Yarrawonga 9.7.61 defeated Wodonga Raiders Red 1.1.7
The cold, wet and windy morning didn't dampen the spirits of the little Pigeons. With a few late withdrawals (due to illness), the entire team realised the need to step up and play their role.
And, play their role they did!
The boys played their most complete game yet. Jack Ibrahim, Byron Dodd and Billy Stevens ran their hearts out and played leading roles in the midfield.
They were given first use through the outstanding efforts of ruckman Jet Hargreaves who worked hard all day.
Jackson Smith had the opposition second guessing with his ruthless attack on the ball and followed up with plenty of possessions of his own.
All eight individual goal kickers made the most of their opportunities and Lachlan Cruikshank showed his versatility, bagging two goals.
An outstanding effort from all players brought about a thoroughly deserved victory.
Jack Imbrahim flies for a mark as he was named his teams best in the Under 12s.

On a dreary winters day, the boys looked out of sorts. Despite this, the Pigeons led for almost three quarters.
Then Raiders Red started kicking goals to run away 23 point winners, Yarrawonga’s finals aspirations dented.
The bye week gives the team a chance to regroup. Thank you to the superstar parents who fill roles off-field and help in the canteen.
Thanks also to those businesses who support the boys by providing weekly encouragement awards.
