The Bears made the trip across to Blighty looking to continue their form.
One of the all-time greatest pre-game rev ups by AB Ford did not seem to have much of an effect on Cam Tregenza who was targeted by the Blighty mids, getting caught with the ball four times in the first quarter (on track to beat Dylan Scott’s PDFL record).
Fossil O'Brien came into the contest under an injury cloud however managed to steady the ship for the Bears slotting three goals in the first quarter before declaring his work was done and subbing himself out of the game at quarter time.
Fans from both sides were excited about the inclusion of Alex Reilly for his first senior appearance of the season and they didn’t have to wait long for the big brute to show his stuff, palming a centre bounce over his head into the lap of Xav Stevenson, leading to a shot on goal for Ash Saunders.
After Gooba had 9 at half time, Weasel Chapman wanted in on the action and snuck forward to kick a lovely set shot from the pocket.
Sammy Ferguson continues to find plenty of the prune averaging close to Steve Smith numbers (60 a game, just ask him).
Saunders finished with 13 snags — a career best on the field. For those at home wondering, his career best off the field is 17 snags in one sitting.

Reserves
Blighty 0.0.0 defeated by Tungamah 17.17.119.
With 17 players out the Bears were able to field a more traditional looking reserves team with a group of players turning up to the pregame meeting that wouldn’t look out of place at an AA gathering.
There were some big stats to hit the board before the first bounce with Shane Thompson playing his 350th reserves game and Mitch Goldman playing his 100th, however, these stats were nearly rivalled by the average age and weight stats which copped a beating as the phone rang hot to fill a team.
Brit Ackland had a baptism by fire as she took the reins of team manager and was best off ground.
Dan “the table” Chapman relished a bit of me time in some prime positions and had a belter but will be remembered for working harder after the game telling everyone in the crowd about how he had a belter.
Jake Henderson added more 6’s to the score card than a Chris Gayle T20 innings as he went one better than last week slotting 9 majors.
Shane Thompson like the bottle of Penfolds grange just seems to get better with age or maybe it’s better with each game either way they’re both big numbers.
Mitch Goldman continues to work on his repertoire of impressions adding Mac truck to the list alongside freight train from last week. Also on show was the waiter as he served up plenty to the forwards.
Banger Thompson is looking close to a sponsorship deal with Energizer batteries as he just kept going and going and going through a second game with no sign of slowing down.
May be some legal issues with the nickname sources are saying. The cap Patches continues to find a way to look better on the field than a Victoria’s Secret model.
Honourable mention to all the boys who helped by filling in. Special thanks to woods point for letting Ryan Walker out for the day to slot a few snags.
Goals: Jake Henderson 9, Ryan Walker 2, Matthew Bourke 1, Lachlan Connor 1, Mitch Goldman 1, Daniel Johnson 1, Thomas Lidgerwood 1, Harvey Thomson 1.

Thirds
Blighty 0.2.2 defeated by Tungamah 5.11.41.
It was a sunny but windy day at Blighty. The Bears were excited to be playing the Red Legs. In what turned out to be a scrappy game and at times was a little hard to watch the boys did a well enough job to get over the line and come home with a win.
Geoff Montgomery, Tom Costigan and Liam Williams all played well. Xander Smith had a great game as well as Max Chadwick and Nathan Weir.
Well done to all the boys.

Fourths
Blighty 0.0.0 defeated by Tungamah 13.19.97.
The fourths started the day with the younger players mixing it with some of the older players on the ground and they held their own with goals on the board.
There were plenty of rotations throughout the day and most got a go in different positions. It was great to see Declan Wood snap two early goals, whilst Archie Doyle’s attack of the ball was awesome.
Special mention to Ed Cummins who took a great mark and then followed it up by kicking his first goal for the 4ths.
Thank you to Blighty, who the Bears boys mentioned later were a top bunch of kids.
The Bears look forward to taking on Katamatite at home next week.
