Tungamah forward Lachy Tompson helped himself to an 18-goal haul and a best on-ground performance against a depleted Yarroweyah side at Jubilee Park on Saturday.
The Bears were keen to score a big win in front of a home crowd and didn’t disappoint recording a 293-point win over the struggling bottom-placed Hoppers.
With Yarroweyah short of a few players, Tungamah were more than happy to lend players to ensure a game could take place.
With a heavily stacked forward line, Lachy Thompson had an exceptional performance.
Malique, the 3rds sub, fitted in perfectly and managed to score a couple of goals, contributing to the team's overall success.
Speculation has arisen regarding the timekeeper potentially allowing the clock to run during the last quarter, but no one dares to raise the question for fear of potential repercussions.
It is possible that the seniors may need to find themselves another timekeeper.
The willingness of the Tungamah players to assist Yarroweyah demonstrates admirable sportsmanship.
The Bears extend their best wishes to Yarroweyah for their future endeavours.
Awards: O Willis – Intersport, T Lidgerwood – Ricky D’s, J Henderson – Tungamah Hotel, J Arnold – Hicks Butchery.

The entrance to Jubilee Park looked like the off ramp of the M80 as the spectators flooded in to get front row seats to the greatest sporting event outside of the Paris Olympics; the lunch time legends of Tunga and Yarroweyah going head-to-head.
Dimma Payne, the florist, started making his own arrangements up forward, with the eyes set on a big bag. It’s a long walk home for Chase Payne though after he kicked his first senior footy goal, instead of kicking it to his old man.
Rangi, despite doing more runs through the canteen than the midfield of late, found himself plenty of it deep forward.
With Belly, Connell and Bozz all hitting the showers early the thirds boys that got the chance to shape up against their coach made the most of it serving him up more combos than a KFC menu.
Saunders put any talk of becoming a forward late in his career to bed and Phat would have given Panadol a headache this week begging/demanding a run up forward.
Given the chance, and scoring a couple of majors, won’t help shut him up.
Thanks to the Yarroweyah boys for their efforts.

This weeks game was a physical game to start off with, but the girls persevered till the end.
They had great aim in the ring, the defenders always had hands over the ball and the midcourt were zooming in all areas of the court.
And a great donation was made at the end giving both the Bears and Yarroweyah a box of chocolates.
