It was a tough day at the office for Tungamah as the Bears went down to Katunga in a close-fought contest, falling short by just seven points.
Despite their best efforts, things just didn’t click the way Tungamah wanted, and they were left ruing missed opportunities in a game that was there for the taking.
There were still plenty of positives to take from the game. N. McKeown led by example and was a standout across four quarters kicking eight of the teams nine goals.
F. Fletcher showed his usual grit and determination around the contest. Gussy Ford and Geoffrey Montgomery worked tirelessly in the defensive side of the ground trying to spark the Bears into gear.
The Smother King, Drew Haebich gave plenty with his raw toughness. J. Holcombe also battled hard and gave drive when it was needed most, although his moustache was not a hit with the ladies in the crowd.
It wasn’t the Bears day, but the group will take the lessons from this one and bounce back stronger.
Time to reset and refocus – the team know what they’re capable of and will be looking to Rennie next week for the White Ribbon round at home.

This week saw the lunch time legends heading to Katunga where the flies were so friendly it had everyone questioning their personal hygiene routine.
It was good to see the crocodile O’Kane - all mouth, no ears - back after his crippling injury in round one.
This bloke can play anywhere, but probably needs to learn where he is on the ground, as he delivered a great backmans clearing spoil, all be it deep in the forward line… over his own teammate.
The pizza wizard was on his way back to career best form before the knee gave out on him.
After a few engineering checks the stretcher was brought out and the big man was moved to the trainers table, albeit to then wander out later on.
It seemed suss when Ocean was sent forward as his replacement. Whilst he was willing to hit a few packs, he probably needs to hit a few more combo meals to be a like for like replacement.
Ash Scott was running hotter than the tomato in a burnt toastie.
The ever unorthodox JJ continued doing his standard unorthodox things with the blatant disrespect of eating Macca’s in the KFC drive through shown to all.
For a bloke that once made a fair run at the Coleman medal off the back flank, it seemed the obvious move to send Playa forward at the start of the year.
Turns out it wasn’t, ironically turning seems to be his down point.
Memphis had a high possession count.

The second quarter was one to forget and the boy's rallied to finish the second half with a complete team effort.
Thanks to statisticians Nate and Ed, the clearances and tackle count showed.
Brody continued with his great form in the ruck and forward. Darcy continues to grow and learn as a forward, along with Jackson who played a great game.
After a starring role on Gilligan's Island, Sammy Williams slotted straight back in to prove his worth in the side.
Kade -Mr. Reliable put in another solid performance and managed to sneak forward for a goal, one more than Crisp.

It was a stunning day out at Katunga — blue skies, sunshine, and about three million flies who all RSVP’d “yes” to the event.
The Tungamah Bears hit the field like they’d just woken up from a long winter nap - a little dazed at first, but soon charging around like someone had hidden honey at the goals.
