The two sides split the set wins, with Kyvalley Black narrowly triumphing on games, 5-52 to 5-51.
The singles rubbers were both won by Kyvalley Black, with Ryan Cooper notching a 6-3 win and Jared Mioni claiming his 6-1.
Kyvalley Red won the doubles rubbers 5-3, which included a strong 8-0 set by Tilly and Ella Forde, and in the end the outcome came down to Kyvalley Black claiming one more game off its opponent in lost rubbers.
The loss meant Red just fell short of going the entire regular season unbeaten, though it still enters finals as the one seed, where it will face Girgarre in the semis.
Meanwhile, Kyvalley Black will face Undera in the semi-finals after it cruised to a dominant 8-71 to 2-38 win over Girgarre to finish third.
The two sides split the singles rubbers 1-1, Girgarre claiming its set 6-3 while Undera triumphed in the other 6-1.
It was in the doubles where Undera proved too strong, claiming seven sets to Girgarre’s one.
Undera’s Gerard Slee played his part in winning three doubles rubbers alongside teammates by scores of 8-1, 8-2 and 8-6.
The win meant Undera displaced Girgarre in third on the ladder, despite both finishing the regular season with identical records of two wins, 10 losses, and two draws.
Juniors
In section two, Kyvalley Red cruised to a 7-45 to 1-15 win over KLTC.
Tilly Forde, Paige Berner and Byron Chapman once again dominated, as Red claimed all four doubles rubbers with a games total of 24-7.
In the other match-up, Kyvalley White defeated Girgarre 5-41 to 3-25.
A 3-1 advantage in doubles rubbers proved pivotal for White, with Ayden King and Kane Pyke’s 6-0 win being a standout.
In section three, KLTC Blue narrowly triumphed 3-25 to 2-21 over Stanhope.
No results were available from KLTC Black’s match-up with Kyvalley.
