Boosting excitement will be the Blighty Football Netball Club’s 75th year celebrations, with a reunion day at the Blighty Recreation Reserve.
Following the day's play, the formal reunion festivities will start.
Kicking off from 5.30pm, the reunion event will cost $30 which includes a two-course meal and guest speakers.
Children are welcome with under-16s free.
Buses to Deniliquin and Finley if needed will be available throughout tomorrow evening from $15 per person with the cost dependent on numbers.
Camping is permitted on-site.
Blighty seniors football coach Dane Leyden said it would be a significant day for the club and players.
“It’s past players' day, so we’ll make sure we have a good crack,” he said.
“There’s a buffet on for $30 each.
“Past players will be coming to have a look, some of whom might not have seen the team play in years.
“They’ll probably be having a few drinks after the game, which is always encouraged.
“We’ll play with pride and give our absolute best.
“We won’t go down without a fight and if we go down, it won’t be because of lack of effort.
“We’ll give it our all.
“We hope to play well, and with that comes plenty of enjoyment for all involved.”
The Redeyes will be aiming to put in a full four quarter performance.
In their last game two weeks ago, they had a lead on the Deni Rovers during the Warner Tasker Cup by four points.
That slipped away after three-quarter time, with the Rovers taking the honours.
“Like I’ve said in previous weeks, our goal is to be competitive and be in position to win the game.
“I’m proud of our guys and their efforts throughout the first three quarters, as I think they did that.
“Some of the highlights I thought included our ball movement that set us up to get through their zone.
“Another highlight was our effort and endeavour for three quarters.
“We probably ran out of legs in the last quarter, but credit to Deni for getting over the top of us in the last quarter.”
The Redeyes face an in-form Berrigan side.
The Saints have won their first three games against Rennie, Mathoura and Tocumwal.
Last year when the two teams played each other, Berrigan was at home and won by 158 points with Jordan Bird kicking 17 goals for the home side.
This week against the Saints, Leyden said the Redeyes will have to adjust due to a few changes to the team.
“Unfortunately for us, there will be five or six changes this week for various reasons, but our aim will be to bring a certain standard of effort and competitiveness.
“We’ve also been training that when the other team gets a bit of a run-on going, we’ve worked on how to nullify that.”
On the netball courts, the under-11s and under-15s play from 9.30am, under-13s and under-17s from 10.40am, C-reserve and B-grade at 12pm and C-grade and A-grade at 1.30pm.
Football kicks off with the fourths from 9.30am, thirds from 10.30am, reserves from 12.25pm and seniors from 2.05pm.
