C Grade ends in draw

Yarrawonga Mulwala C Grade have finished with drawn result due to wet weather that forced an early finish for the day in their clash with Greta at Lonsdale Reserve in Mulwala.

The YMCC batted first and a great opening partnership ensued between Marcus Hargreaves and young gun Kade Sullivan.

The pair combined for 62 runs with Sullivan making 12 from 51 balls and Marcus Hargreaves batted for most of the innings to finish the highest scorer with 70 runs from 74 balls in his comeback after a hiatus.

Ted Graham came to the crease in the closing overs hitting 22 from 27 balls. At the conclusion of the YMCC 36 over allotment they had totalled 8 for 134.

After the tea interval, Greta took to the batting crease and it was the YMCC who struck with the first ball; a wicket to Will Murphy with Kade Sullivan taking the catch.

Within 3 overs, Greta was 3 for 9 with Sullivan taking 2 for 9 off his 4 overs. Murphy would finish his spell with 1 for 7 off 4 overs.

Another wicket fell to Tom Coffey who finished with 1 for 8 off 3 overs; while Daniel O’Brien went wicketless to have 0 for 11 off 3 overs at a nice pace. Heavy rain fell and ended Greta innings and the match at 4 for 36 off 14 overs.

Next week Yarrawonga Mulwala will have a bye before taking on Rovers United Bruck on Saturday November 26 at South Wangaratta Recreation Reserve.
