The lure of warmer weather in the north was impossible to resist but snooker is now back in full on winter mode.
Craig Jordan appears to be assimilating to the cold conditions best with a stunning display in recent weeks, in which he made three finals from four events.
Craig started his run with a runner up finish to the perennially consistent Michael Barclay, in a cash night conducted on June 16.
Michael must have confused his dates as he usually fires his best on Wednesday evenings, but on this occasion, he showed a clean pair of heels to a good field.
Monday 23/6
Monday 23/6 saw the first iteration of a six red lightning premiership event, which was much enjoyed by all.
Ian Irvine, who is back playing regularly, obviously relished within the format as he took out the event from Martin Dermietzel, who is freshly home from Europe.
Congratulations gentlemen, very well played by you both.
Social Nights
Craig Jordan collected the chocolates on the social nights of June 18 and 25 and sets his attention to an unprecedented Hatrick on July 2.
Luca Macheda, who incidentally celebrated a very significant milestone, had a similar run of hot form recently and his handicap is now at a career best level.
Craig can expect similar treatment when the handicapper next sharpens his pencil.
July Schedule
The first week of July will see the contesting of both the Captain’s Cup and Bruce Johnstone Trophy.
These events are in the best of three frames format and generally produce close matches throughout qualifying and final rounds.
Good luck to every competitor in what will be a busy time for all players.
