Former club champion Heie Hansen has rediscovered his best form in producing great recent results at Club Mulwala Snooker Club.
Heie sits very comfortably within the club’s most proficient players level and has earned himself some very serious handicap attention over the past few weeks.
Monday July 14 monthly Diggers Tribute event was taken by Heie over the ever-consistent Darren Edwards, and he followed that up with a win in the social evening contested on July 16 against fellow former club champion and club president Darren Thompson.
Heie then worked his way through qualifying rounds of the Bruce Johnstone Trophy to place himself in the final, in which he will throw down against Darren Thompson.
Darren is also building his form after seemingly adapting to his new purpose-built snooker glasses.
Darren took out Nev Page on the Wednesday July 23 social night event and then claimed a thrilling three frame semi-final of the Bruce Johnstone Trophy, over Michael Barclay in a perfect warm up to the final contest.
The Bruce Johnstone Trophy is one of the club’s highly sought after titles as it is played in memory of a much respected long serving office bearer and club member.
Good luck to both players in what will be a high quality and entertaining match.
