Colbinabbbin falls short of grand final

North Bendigo lit up Elmore Recreation Reserve over the opening half hour, kicking 8.2 in the opening period to notch 50 points and build a lead of 23 points.

The Grasshoppers managed to rein in the rampant Bulldogs in the second and were unlucky not to win the term as they kicked a wayward 4.5 (29) to the opposition’s 5.2 (32).

The Bulldogs again proved dominant in the third quarter, and the game was put out of reach of Colbo when the minor premier booted seven goals to two.

North Bendigo then cruised home, despite the Hoppers narrowly winning the final term, and made its way into the decider 23.10 (148) to 13.14 (92).

Sam Ryan was Colbinabbin’s leading scorer, kicking three goals in the defeat, while Dylen Klemm and Cody Riddick found four each for the Bulldogs.

North Bendigo advances to take on Mt Pleasant for the flag on Saturday.
