The B1 side travelled to Moyhu and couldn’t handle the green, losing by 22 shots. They retain 1st place on the ladder.
Dom Carroll, John Danaher, Bev Pilfoot and Peter Summerill lost 13 to 27.
Brian Houlihan, Tony Coughlin, Gary Brown and Anne Summerill won 22 to 19.
Ken Mollinson, Susie Swift, Bryan Gee and Les Pilfoot lost 13 to 24.
Pennant is now in recess until January 13 for the B3 side and January 20 for all other sides.
Men State Pairs
The finals of the Ovens and Murray State Pairs were played at Wangaratta on Sunday December 17. Club member Shawn McMahon partnered with Chris Cootes from Benalla and Scott Widdison partnered with Mason Bayliss from Wodonga. In the elimination final, Scott was drawn to play Shawn, and won 12 to 9. In the semi final Scott and Mason had a decisive win over the Lavington pair of Burge and Pantling, 24 to 5. The final was a tight match, but after 15 ends Scott and Mason won 14 to 13 over the Braden brothers from Wangaratta. Scott and Mason will now represent the Ovens and Murray Region at the State Championships in Bendigo in April.
Ovens and Murray Regional Sides
Two members have been selected to represent Ovens and Murray against other regions in Victoria at Ballarat in January.
Scott Widdison has been selected to skip a team and Maree Jones is the Manager of the Ladies side. Well done Maree and Scott.
