It was again beautiful autumn weather as the Hoppers hosted Dookie for the first time since 2017.
Adam Nish looks to take possession of the ball in a tough contest.
Dookie started strongly pressing from half back and not allowing Rennie any territory gain but they were wasteful up forward and a scoreless Rennie were 24 down at quarter time, with Jack McBurnie at full back and coach Fountain on ball doing a power of work.
Term two saw the Hoppers with three early goals as Bruce and Ryan lit the fuse well supported by Trav Hargreaves and Sammy Ferg, but Dookie stilled, chilled and regrouped to kick the next three.
After the long break, the Hoppers were down to one on the bench and the lack of rotations were played into the Power hands as they were able to spread, create the overlap and provide an easy entry forward.
Daniel Hoskings looks to get out of danger.
This continued early into the final term and the lead had blown out over 100 when the tip rat Denver Bruce made a late mark on the game kicking three successive goals to take his tally to six for the game a fine effort in a losing team.
Congratulations to Josh Soutter on his first senior game.
Best players were Denver Bruce, Jarryd Fountain and Jack McBurnie.
Awards: Premix King - Denver Bruce and Lake Mulwala Bakery - Josh Soutter.
Connor Hargreaves flies high for a mark.
Reserves
Rennie 5.11.41 def by Dookie United 7.6.48.
The Hoppers led all day but in a loss which will sting, went down by seven points conceding two late goals.
Vodusek in the ruck provided the drive early, well supported by Donno on a wing and Paine who has been in the best each week.
Up by two at the first break and one at halftime, term three was a slog with neither team able to register a major.
Caleb Bruce was again excellent and Preston was providing some wizardry, but an intense finish saw the Hoppers fail to nail the end of the game.
Now two out of the four Hoppers need to get back on the winning side.
Goals: R. Trinder James, Z. Garner, L. Burrows, D. Chung, B. Preston.

Fourths
Rennie 6.4.40 def by Dookie United 7.6.48.
The 14s blew a chance by nine points up at the final break but Dookie kicked three goals to zero to win by eight.
Again Ednie was strong on ball but his little helpers in Lewis and Cooper showed skill and talent well supported by Legudi who loves a goal or two, with sons of guns Bruce and Long showing family quality.
Dookie are undefeated so a great effort but a reminder that the fourths need to play out the whole game.
Goals: B. Ednie 2, L. Legudi 2, T. Lewis, J. Long.

Great start to the day with a big crowd watching as the Hoppers were able to lend Dookie a few to provide an even matchup.
