Eastern Hill won the toss at Kings Park Reserve and elected to bat in scorching conditions.
While opener Dallas Bergowicz could put only 15 runs on the board before being bowled by Matthew Pratt, the pairing of Benjamin Bryant and Brayden Speechley was dominant.
Bryant added 71 runs to the total before he was bowled by Jamie Pryor, at which time the score was 2/159.
Speechley contributed 77 runs before being caught by Paul Dugard off a Pryor delivery.
While Pratt picked up the wicket of Matthew Collard with the batter on three runs, it was too little too late as the Eagles finished their innings at 4/209.
With the batters having done their job expertly, the Eastern Hill Bowlers were not going to let the game slip.
The home side got off to a perfect start, dismissing Mitchell Ryan for a duck with only one run on the board.
The Eagles continued to tear through the top order, with Collard and Daniel O’Sullivan picking up the majority of the wickets.
Pratt top-scored for Pyalong with 29 runs, but his late stand was in vain.
The Eagles bowled Pyalong out for 87 for a 122-run win.
The win sees Eastern Hill pull away to a 12-point lead over nearest rival Tallarook at the top of the table.
In the other games, Yea swept aside the Redbacks at Yea Recreation Reserve.
The Tigers’ bowling attack was on fire and cleaned up Alexandra for 46 runs.
Yea chased down the total in eight overs, but not without losing five wickets.
At Chittick Park, Seymour got the job done against Avenel.
Avenel put a respectable 139 runs on the board before it was bowled out in the 35th over, with Aaron Kent making a half-century.
Seymour battled with the bat and was led by vice-captain Lachlan Drummond, who scored 51. Seymour got over the line in the 35th over.
