Matt Owen with 63 and Lachy Carver (21 not out ) helped Fire Brigade post 9-152 which Moama couldn’t challenge, out for 102.
Michael Enrico with 85 and Dan Newton (39) helped Rushworth to a respectable 7-196, but its rival Goats proved up to the challenge covering this score in 31.2 overs.
Division 2
Tongala kept its finals chances alive with a 28-run win over second-placed Colbinabbin.
Led by opener Jayden Tucker with 40 Tongala posted only 93, but Colbo came up short in its run chase, out for 65 with Tyler McNamara with 31 providing more than half his team’s score.
James Coulson with 4-19 did the damage with the ball for Tongala.
Third-placed Echuca South posted an impressive 6-233 against Cooma which answered with 9-147 of which opener Russ Napier made 46 and Jordan Purdy an unbeaten 31.
McKenzie Cowley with 75 with nine fours and a six and a half-century from Rhys Shay enabled Girgarre to post 5-218 against Nondies Cohuna, out for 116.
Openers Shaun Doolan (30) and Connor Cowley (23) had put on a half-century stand to lay the foundations for Girgarre’s healthy score.
Leitchville Gunbower had a easy win over Rochester in the remaining game.
C-grade
Girgarre’s final hopes were dealt a blow by top side Moama which cruised to a seven-wicket win.
Girgarre made only 57 and Moama had this score covered in 15.4 overs.
Fire Brigade with Matt Fleming taking 4-13 and Steve Grima 3-4 skittled Echuca South for 26.
Then in a spectacular finale Kaleb Williams blasted 24 off five balls and delivered a win in 1.4 overs.
D-grade
Half-centuries to Mick Perrella and Lee Westerveld have kept Fire Brigade’s finals chances alive.
The Flames posted 185 and their bowlers restricted Echuca to 180.
Top side Rushworth put Cooma’s finals chances in jeopardy with a big win.
Jac Barrett (33), Josh Francis (22), Brad Tucker (22) and Peter Raglus (20) helped Rushworth to 8-134 and in return Cooma was 8-90 with Peter Fawcett making 41 of this total.
Brett Pateman picked up 3-10 for Rushworth.
Stanhope couldn’t match BLU’s score of 8-179, dismissed for 98.
Opener Jack Hepburn top scored for Stanhope with 24.
