Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Mens 9 Holers

Tuesday’s game of Par was a close race and it was great to see some new names enter the winners circle.

On the Blue it was Peter Viner who claimed first place with correct weight with a very well deserved +3 a nose ahead of a photo finish with Col Rosser, Peter Mansfield, Dave Murray, Joe Sciberras and Tom Hackett all coming in with +2.

On the RED it was the race favourite Bob Fiddes who had the bookies crying into their beer as he streaked down the home straight with a +4 and was sent immediately for a drug test by the stewards, which he passed with flying colours.

Doug Ringholt ran second with a +2 and Peter Taylor was a length behind on +1 followed by a posse of 7 runners led by Terry Strickland Phil Gregory, Warwick Sellars, Bill Lowrie, Dave Hall and Bill Hidson all on square.

Thursday was back to Stableford points and top weight Doug Fasoli won on the Blue with a superb 23 with Rod Sissons and Warwick Sellars 2 lengths behind on 21 ahead of fast finishers Terry Strickland and Steve Ambrose on 20 points.

On the Red Norm Coleman pulled away from the field on the straight with a solid 19 points with a photo for second with Ian Jones winning on countback from Steve Hutchinson, Graeme Eberle, Denis Beal and Dave Holdsworth, all fighting it out in a sprint to the finishing line with 18 points.

Good racing, sorry golfing, fellas!
