Last year was the 10th anniversary of the charity golf event.
“It is now time to move on to support other worthwhile charities,” chief organiser Pat Randall said.
“The charity golf classic will be the same as previous years – the only change being that the event will be supporting two new charities.”
That same playing format is singles stableford men and women events Monday and Tuesday (May 26 and 27) and four-person ambrose men and women events Wednesday, May 28.
Locals can still enter. Those wanting to play can book with golf classic co-ordinator Dario Prighel on 0418 337 937.
Two volunteers are required to officiate at the Lake Course Par 3, 14th hole in connection with the Lexus hole-in-one competition on Wednesday.
This exciting event is proudly sponsored by Lexus Wodonga and Dario would also like to hear from anyone prepared to officiate.
“You’ll see some wonderful shots from the tee and onto the green, and the first one in the target wins the Lexus,” Dario said.
Located in Rosebud, Southern Peninsula Community Support (SPCS) is mainly staffed by volunteers, looking after so many people, addressing issues impacting their day-to-day lives.
Football legends, Hawthorn’s Michael Tuck and St Kilda’s Bob Murray will play in the classic, the latter golden oldie was a member of the ambrose-winning team last year.
Both superstars will attend the Wednesday wind-up dinner in the club’s Willow Room.
There are still vacancies to attend the dinner but get in quick to Dario if you want to attend.
During the dinner, an auction will take place with some great packages to be won.
Leading up to the dinner is the annual silent auction with a wide range of sporting memorabilia in the club’s foyer.
So many sports are covered, so many sporting icons are covered.
There’s something for everyone, including a wonderful Anzac print, Sir Donald Bradman with Shane Warne and Sachin Tendulkar, and the list goes on.
