After superb seasons, a number of Shepparton Bears, Swans and Demons achieved podium finishes or took out the best-and-fairest gong, as well as leading goalkicker awards.
In the under-14s division one, Shepparton’s Harry Watson was crowned the competition’s best-and-fairest.
Featuring in the Bears premiership side, Watson’s talent was evident through nine best player performances across the season, as well as featuring in the best during the GMJL under-14 boys interleague.
Preliminary finalists Shepparton Swans’ featured a pair of top five best-and-fairest placers, Charlie Hudson and Chase Spence.
Another Swan in Lachan Miller took out the division’s leading goal kicker award, finishing the year with 34 majors including grading games.
In under-14s division two, Tatura’s Leo Nihill ran fifth in the best-and-fairest race with 15 votes, while Shepparton United’s Brody Ralph was runner-up with 21 votes.
Shepparton United’s Elijah Phillips won the goalkicking award after booting 35 majors across the season.
In the under-16s division one, the Swans also had a trio of award winners.
Toby Keady placed equal-fourth in the vote count (12 votes) - Shepparton Bears Clancy Keenan too polled 12 - while Sol Zak finished runner-up with 15 votes.
Swan Zayd Gibson took out the goal kicking title with 40 goals.
But as it was on grand final, Kyabram would edge ahead in first place in the under-16s division one best-and-fairest count, the award going to co-captain Max Stockdale with 18 votes.
Stockdale was named in the best 11 times in 12 matches, and kicked a stunning match-winner in the decider at Deakin Reserve.
