As expected the game started hard and fast and the Hoppers had to settle early. Some physical contests made the girls work hard the first quarter and saw Rennie take the lead by 2 goals.

A few changes were needed with Mikayla McAuliffe taking the GS reigns working her way into the position.

With Polly McRae stepping into GA at half time, the duo combined well in their first match together.

Hannah Shoppee found her feet in the second half with glimpses of the “Miley” the club need to see.

A great team game and endless effort saw the Hoppers take away a four point win.

With a team full of juniors Rennie played extremely well and look forward to the challenges ahead!

A shaky and nervous first half, saw the girls down by 14 at half time. The persistence and hard work saw Rennie draw and win the last two quarters.

Some massive positives for the very new team on Thursday night against a tough and experienced Tungamah.

The Hoppers created many turnovers which was impressive to watch however, the Hoppers’ eagerness to get it down the court came with a few mistakes.

A learning curve for the B Grade team which will only make them stronger moving forward.

The girls had a tough game this week against Tungamah. The girls worked hard to find those passes into the ring where Sarah dominated.

Along with Taya and Haylee supporting in the ring, the shooters worked hard to constantly be options for the mid court players to also pass into.

Hayley and Nada passed the ball into the ring incredibly. The defence consisted of Georgie, Ally and Rach who all ran their hearts out and contributed to multiple turnovers.

Nada and Georgia were a key asset to the defence blocking multiple leads from Tungamah. In the end the Rennie girls were very proud of themselves and will be ready next time they meet Tungamah.

Coach Georgia is extremely proud of how these girls are coming together as a team.

Finally starting with a whole team, and what a way to do it. A game where girls were versing their best friends and having to put that on the side to focus on their team.

The Rennie girls came together to adjust to the nerves and the pressures from the sidelines to prove why they aren't to be underestimated.

Zoe McKenzie, Laynee Rhodes and Lucy Bassett all showed how rotating in the ring and having confidence pays off when the ball goes through the ring. Sophia Shaw, Mykie McBurnie and Georgia Phillips all running tirelessly to bring the ball from the defensive end and feeding into the goalers with patience and poise.

And finally the defensive pressure by Heleena Shaw and Eliza Robilliard was unmatched. With agility and want for the ball, the girls were able to intercept, and force turnover after turnover.

A great win for a very deserving team!

Special mention to Sophie Coghill for being the team cheerleader/ biggest supporter this weekend!

Under 13s

Rennie 19 drew with Tungamah 19

Thursday afternoon saw Rennie come up against their arch rival Tungamah in the under 13s netball. This was always going to be an enthralling game after the trash talk at school all week.

It was a seesawing contest all game with neither team able to put the other away.

Sienna, Jemima and Kate were rocks in defence making it very difficult for the Bears to score.

Hoppers midcourt players Maisie, Ruby, Cydee and Isabel ran hard all game and set up numerous scoring opportunities whilst shooters Winnie, Layla and Makayla didn’t let the team down.

After four exciting quarters the two teams couldn’t be separated with a 19 all draw.

Under 11s

A brilliant effort by all under 11s parents and girls to get to the early game after a busy last day at school.

The Tunga/ Rennie rivalry made for an exciting atmosphere and a well-matched game with all the girls improving their teamwork each week, happily changing positions and experiencing many different aspects of the game.

All the hard work at training is paying off.
