Rennie 33 def Picola 27
A very clumsy start to the game and minimal conversions lead to a two-goal deficit in the first quarter.
The girls started to pick themselves back up in the second quarter with the defence end providing a number of opportunities to the attacking end.
Abby Coghill and Georgie Bruce stood out during the game but a change was needed in attack to take control.
With new goalers, the third quarter saw Rennie up by 6 heading into the last. The mistakes crept in and with Picola playing great netball, they pegged the lead back in the last.
What the scribe would call an “ugly win” luckily saw Rennie take away the 4 points.
Full training this week will work on those rusty passes and the Hoppers require much more aggression to the ball in the court.

Rennie started off slow and was focused on beating the opposition instead of playing their own game.
The second quarter showed an 8 goal turn around by the girls, dominating the whole court.
Amazing defence by Kayla, Celine and Heidi allowed the midcourt and goalers to be able to relax into their positions and put into place what they have been working on.
Laura and Ebony showed great strength and knowledge with drives and passes down the court.
The Hoppers continue to chip away at teams and show resilience which is something to admire and be proud of.

This week the Hopper girls celebrated a huge milestone for one key player in Nada Nolen playing her 250th game.
The first half of the game was tight and clean with nice short passes throughout the court seeming to work flawlessly.
Unfortunately during the second half the Hoppers did become clumsy and sloppy with passes giving Picola a chance to run away with the win this week.
A disappointing result but all girls kept their heads up and are looking forward to another week.

This week the Hoppers came off the back of a bye, but that didn't mean they slacked off.
At training the Under 17s focussed on communication and team building and it truly showed on the court when the Hoppers were able to make multiple changes in positions in every quarter.
The final score yet again shows the determination all defenders put in to controlling the play and backing each other up, as well as the continuous efforts of all goalers for constantly putting their shots up, and following them through no matter their obstacles.
Lots of work on toes this week, which only helps in success next week.
Great job girls, another team win with all the credit going to you the coaches are so proud!

After having a bye last week, the girls came out really strong against Picola. All the hard work and training is really paying off come game day.
The defensive end worked well together focusing on holding front and playing on the body, causing plenty of turnovers throughout the game.
The midcourt and shooters rewarded these turnovers with great transitions in attack resulting in plenty of scoring opportunities.
All the girls ran out the game beautifully and should be very proud of themselves!
