A Grade

Last week’s game had seen the return of young gun Ella Rhodes who starred in the goal ring with young shooter, Mabel Cope.
With this duo working tirelessly in the goal ring, the feeding in and patience had to be consistent.
This was seen through experienced players like Brooke McDougall and the determined Laynee Rhodes.
Strathmerton did not let the Rennie girls get a lead by any means, yet A Grade’s defensive end with Sam Knight and Jennika Parker, proved relentless and showed that age is just a number and strength is what matters.
A Grade also seen sister duo Chelsea Banfield and Samantha Belcher come back together in the defensive ring to make Strathmerton work for every single possession and goal they could get.
This combo did not let up for four quarters and allowed the team to keep the lead which they kept until the final whistle.
A great game, so good to come away with the win.

Under 17s
Rennie def Strathmerton 19
After last weeks game not going our way, the Under 17s came ready to show what they are made of against Strathmerton.
From the warm-up and coming into the first quarter, Mabel Cope worked tirelessly in the goal ring to make space, and to showed what practice can do.
Paired with strong defensive pressure from Liv, Sam and Jazzy, the girls made sure that Strathmerton had to mix up what they were doing.
This allowed for Mia, Ella, Charlotte, Zoe and Jasi to make numerous intercepts and execute strong passages of play down the court.
Amazing work girls, and despite having a few sprints to do this week, it was a great team game and lovely to see everyone enjoy it.

Although it was not the result the Under 15s had hoped for, this game truly showed the work that everyone has been putting into the court and into their own personal training.
With complements from spectators about the growth and development of each girl, it was clear to coach Georgia Hope that the team is moving in the right direction and each week is progress that will lead to more wins.
