Last Saturday welcomed another 15-year-old debutant in Samantha Knight. Sam's athleticism and natural talent to read the play was highlighted in the game. Congrats Sam and A Grade look forward to watching you more in the future.
The very young and undermanned Hopper side gave it their absolute all, never giving up and gaining more experience and knowledge to roll into their next game.
The other 15-year-old Demi Rhodes might be small in stature but stood tall providing plenty of opportunities in the attack end and was an effective move into the shooting end.
The defenders have been working hard at sets play, split ring defence and using their strengths to gain possession and they put that all into practise on Saturday.
Heleena Shaw was a standout getting her hands to many balls against very smart, quality opposition.

A tough battle for B grade this week, with a number of illnesses causing a shuffle into the line up.
This allowed two young gun Under 17 players to step up and try their hand in B grade. Indi Wheeler and Tess Bassett showed what training, effort and want for the ball can do to a game.
Indi played with experience beyond her years and took feedback onto the court and made it effective.
Tess worked with her older sister Lucy to be the dynamic duo in the defensive ring. Tess and Lucy both powered through a tough physical and mental battle playing against Tungamah's tall and experienced goaling end.
Bring on another training to keep working on skills and building team dynamic.

Coming into last weekend’s game against Tungamah meant a heavy mental battle ahead for the girls.
Playing against friends, school mates, even family sometimes and being in a small town, focus and team motivation was key.
Tungamah came out guns blazing in the first quarter, however the Rennie girls knew not to panic and revert back to basics.
Demi Rhodes showed how working the ball down the court, precision goaling and communication can change a game in minutes.
Samantha Knight worked tirelessly in the defensive circle, causing turnovers and rebounds every chance she got.
Ella Lewis and Jasmine Lewis both executed their roles throughout the game with ease.
The Rennie girls continued to chip away at the score and increase their lead each quarter.
The entire team played exceptionally well and awards could have gone to all of them. Coach Brooke is extremely proud of the sportsmanship and conduct that the girls demonstrated on the court.

After a fun night at training this week with the annual game against the mums for Mother’s Day, the girls were in good spirits taking on the Bears at their home ground.
The Bears started strong with their goalies not missing many but the defenders didn’t let that worry them.
The Bears girls were great with flexibility and adapting to quite a few rotations whilst a few new combinations were tried throughout the court.
Even though Rennie didn’t finish with the win, Haylee and Laynee are extremely proud of the girls with their positivity and never give up attitude
