Jerilderie delivered a dominant performance on their home deck, comfortably defeating Katunga by 70 points in round 14 of the Picola and District Football Netball League.

From the opening bounce, the Dees looked in control, combining ferocious pressure, clean ball movement, and a relentless forward push to secure the convincing win.

It was a tight start which saw Jerilderie make better use of their entries despite some early inaccuracy, while Katunga had their chances but couldn’t convert, giving the Dees a 12 point lead at the first change.
In the second term, Jerilderie broke the game wide open with a seven-goal blitz. The midfield lifted, giving forwards silver service and allowing the backline to remain resolute.
By half-time, the margin had ballooned out to 56 points, Jerilderie 9.7 (61) to Katunga 0.5 (5).
After the break, Katunga rallied, with their best patch of the game, slotting five goals, however Jerilderie steadied and kept the scoreboard ticking over.
The home side put the foot down again in the final term, adding another four majors while restricting Katunga to just two more behinds.
Zander Nash was the star up forward, slotting seven goals in a dominant display of marking and finishing.
Max Diffey and Cam O’Brien were brilliant rebounding off the defensive 50, consistently setting up attacks from the back half.
Ollie Knight was a wall on the last line of defence, intercepting everything that came his way and denying Katunga any real momentum.
Travis ‘Thug’ Lawton brought the physicality, throwing his weight around with authority and playing the enforcer role to perfection.
With a commanding four-quarter performance, Jerilderie will now enjoy a well-earned bye before heading to Rennie to begin the final stretch of the home-and-away season.
The team’s form is building nicely at the right time of year, and they’ll look to carry that momentum into the final four rounds.
Reserves
The team came out firing, playing great football from the first bounce and recording a great win.
There were good numbers this week, which allowed plenty of changes and keeping fresh legs.
Cam Arnold led the way, playing his best game across the backline while Dave Hercus provided a strong target up forward, kicking four goals.
Jackson Tooke and Brock Kocks playing excellent games across the ground.
It was a full four quarters of football, with the team working tirelessly in defence against the wind in the last quarter to hold back Katunga’s attack.

Thirds
The young thirds team has played hard all season and to get their second win was very exciting and a huge credit to the players.
From the first bounce, the boys were on.
With the advantage of the wind, they gained a lot of possession, were all playing their positions well and the half backline stopped nearly everything, with Katunga only having one scoring shot in the opening term.
The quarter time score saw the Demons up 27-6.
In the second quarter the team gelled well, had plenty of centre clearances and kept Katunga to only one goal while they had the wind.
The Dees were lively and enjoying the contest.
They kept up their intensity in the second half and won in the end with a deserving 63-20 score line, which was reward for weeks of battling with low numbers.

Fourths
The junior boys and girls turned up on Saturday to play in near-perfect winter conditions – crisp and cool, ideal for footy.
It was a physical and contested start to the match, with both teams applying heavy tackling pressure, resulting in a game full of stoppages early on.
The Dees’ backline stood tall in the first quarter, holding Katunga scoreless while the side managed to sneak through a vital goal against the breeze, which was a great start under tough conditions.
The second and third quarters saw a hard-fought battle through the middle of the ground.
Both teams gave it everything, with plenty of contested possessions and strong defensive efforts on display.
By the final break, the scores were locked at 3.2 apiece, setting the stage for a tense final term.
With the wind in the last quarter, the Dees stepped up and dominated much of the play, locking the ball in the forward half and piling on the pressure.
While the players couldn’t quite capitalise fully on forward entries, they did enough to edge ahead and secure an important 11-point win.
