Koby, a member for six years at Yarrawonga Bowls Club, and Will, 16, from Heathmont Bowling Club, claimed the prestigious title after downing their rivals from NSW 21-15 in the final on Friday, September 30.
“We jumped out to a lead and NSW came back at us and it was about 12 all and then the scores remained neck and neck, and then with a couple ends left we picked up a number which meant we were up by five playing the last end and then we won the last end to claim victory,” Koby told the Yarrawonga Chronicle.
Koby and Will won their three sectional games to put them on top of their section going into the final.
Going into that decider, the pair felt nervous, but also excited, because they knew they “had a chance at gold”.
