The division one finals commenced at Rich River Bowls Club, as the Moama Steamers faced Echuca in a qualifying semi-final and Kyabram and Stanhope squared off in an elimination semi-final.

Echuca will face Kyabram in next week’s preliminary final after the latter cruised to victory over Stanhope 16-81 to 0-36.
All three rinks saw dominant results for Kyabram, led by Mary Greco’s side, featuring Peter Lomas, Maurice Hateley and Christopher Preddy, who triumphed 26-9 over Jennifer Crilly’s Stanhope rink.

Noel Reddrop and Joe Greco won their rinks in just as comfortable a fashion for Kyabram, 29-14 and 26-13 over skips Peter Myers and Gregory Fitzpatrick respectively.
The Steamers last made the grand final two seasons ago and, after securing the one seed for finals with a 12-1-1 record, had the opportunity to return to the big stage.

They did so emphatically, condemning Echuca to a preliminary final next week by winning 16-79 to 0-57.
Matt Robertson’s rink, including Tony Hawley, Marilyn Stephenson and Robert Young, earned the largest margin in the semi-final for Moama, 25-14 over Echuca skip James Ferrier.
Kyabram’s Noel Reddrop skipped a comfortable win.
Skip Cameron Keenan was equally dominant, his team victorious 30-20 over Ian Page.
Echuca fared better in Kerryn Evans’ rink but still narrowly lost 24-23 to Cassandra Millerick.

The Steamers have the week off, awaiting who they will contest in the grand final, which is scheduled for March 10.
Lower divisions
In division two, Kyabram did enough, winning two rinks against Moama, to book its spot in the grand final with a 14-63 to 2-57 victory.

The Steamers will now face Echuca, whose two emphatic rink wins against Deniliquin RSL led to a 14-73 to 2-54 overall victory and progression to the preliminary final.
But the Deniliquin side in division three has progressed to the grand final, despite both teams winning a rink each, as John Murray’s 25-18 win over Moama’s Peter Whitlock proved pivotal.
Mirroring their division two counterparts, the division three Steamers must follow the difficult path to make the grand final, facing Tongala in the preliminary final after the latter eliminated Echuca 12-41 to 2-33.
In division four, Lockington will play in the grand final after edging out Stanhope in a two-shot win, 12-36 to 2-34.
It was an all-Moama affair in the elimination semi-final, as Moama Green defeated Moama Black 14-39 to 0-36, booking its spot in next week’s preliminary final against Stanhope.
