The Redbacks posted a respectable score of 9-199 off their 80 overs but Euroa’s batsmen took only 48 overs to cover this score for the loss of five wickets.
After winning the toss and batting, Kyabram had batsmen who got a start but it was Nick Chambers at number 10 who gave the total a late boost with an unbeaten 44, with four boundaries and a six off 105 deliveries.
Paul Wickam, with a gritty 35 off 103 deliveries, held the middle order together, and Troy Thomson was the most productive of the Redbacks’ top order batsmen with 20 off 45 balls.
Kyabram got a sniff of victory when it claimed both the Euroa openers cheaply, but the Hills, Lachy with 53 and Ryan with an unbeaten 43, along with Josh Robertson’s 50, steered the home side to a five-wicket win.
Jim McGregor C-grade shield
Undera will host Northerners this Saturday in the C-grade semi-finals, with the winner facing either Old Students or Karramomus in the decider on March 28.
The Lions will be favoured, having taken out the minor premiership, although Northerners cruised to a 147-run victory the last time the two sides met in round 10.
Undera opener Travis Guppy will look to continue some fine form that has seen him average 50.33 across his last three innings, while Glenn Campbell has been the side’s most potent bowling threat in recent weeks.
The action will take place at Undera Park Recreation Reserve from 12.30pm.
Whitelock E-grade shield
Kyabram’s E-grade side takes on Northerners in a semi-final at Bunbartha this Saturday, with the winner meeting either Waaia or Shepparton Youth Club United for the flag the following weekend.
In-form opener Ethan Hart, Kristian Chambers, Dylan Lopez and Adam Banks, with support, are capable of posting a winning score for the Redbacks.
The action begins at 12.30pm at Bunbartha Recreation Reserve.
