Ladies day was in full flight by the time the Senior game began so the interest in the match was minimal at best with all the action going on in the Ladies Marquee.
Mulwala controlled the match from the beginning and all the good-looking players were getting the attention from the crowd but not much of the ball.
Jacko Gash had brought his own football again and if he didn’t kick it so far, he could very well mark his own kicks at times.
He was well supported by Zach Scott in the middle of the ground as the little fella proved that good things come in small packages as on several occasions he made the forwards look good with his precise disposal into the forward line making their jobs much easier.
Dylan Scott rushes to get the ball out of danger.

They did have trouble with the windy disposition of the weather and Jack Sutherland and Harley Middleton must be commended for their direct kicking at goal as they kicked almost half of Mulwala’s scoreline.
Owen was again dominant in the ruck and it was fantastic to see some of the backline creeping forward to kick goals which will happen when you put Adam Rouel on a back flank.
Another brilliant team performance as they ran away with a ten-goal victory further cementing themselves in top position.
The ladies had a fantastic day and full credit must go to Cara for setting up and running the events that make the social calendar so great. Without the great volunteers like Cara football clubs don’t operate and we all love what Cara brings.
Dylan McNamara was named in the seniors best, being shepherded away from intercepting an opponent.

Reserves
Mulwala 8.12.60 def Tongala 7.5.47.
After the stirring victory over the previously undefeated Congupna last week the Reserves came to battle against a Tongala team that had not tasted defeat since 2019.
Tongala kicked with the strong wind in the first quarter and Mul did a great job to restrict them to 3 goals whilst kicking 2 of their own.
With the wind at their backs Mulwala tore through the middle of the ground utilizing the great tap ruck work of Brodie Tyson and long kicking of Joe Bland.
Josh Ednie and Isaac Pitches were rebounding off halfback while restricting their opponents as Mulwala took a handy 3 goal lead into half time.
Tongala kicked 4 in the third as the wind picked up and the resilience of Isaac, Josh, Nathan Beasley, Sam Davies and Kyle Maskell-Dunstan kept Mulwala within reach.
Austin Frauenfelder was moved to the ruck in the last quarter and along with the Psaltaris boys began to gain control of the contest.
When Hudson Gillies goaled from almost centre half back Mulwala were in front and went on to record a stirring 13-point victory.
Goals: A. Psaltiras 2, A. Frauenfelder 1, R. Bartlett 1, D. Psaltiras 1, H. Gillies 1, J. Peters 1, C. Phibbs 1.
Best: J. Ednie, J. Bland, B. Tyson, I. Pitches, A. Psaltiras, A. Frauenfelder.
Thirds
Mulwala 10.7.67 def Tongala 5.5.35.
The challenge had been set by Coach House to commit to the team against fellow finals aspirants in the previous weeks and this match was no different.
Once again, the boys answered the call and their first quarter dominance was exhilarating to watch. Jack Walls, Ollie Watson and Nate Williams were punishing the Tongala midfield and the delivery into forwards Jaxen Wheeler and Mitch Appleby was exemplary.
The speed of Levi Saunders was causing Tongala issues in Mul’s forward line and in defense the strength and guile of Tristan Morris and Jye Brennan were containing the Tonny forwards and rebounding with gusto.
The numerous senior appearances by Jack Walls throughout the year has built his confidence to new levels in the Thirds matches as he proved to be too strong on numerous occasions during the match in a best on ground performance.
Goals: J. Wheeler 3, L. Saunders 1, B. Donovan 1, O. Watson 1, N. Williams 1, J. Walls 1, B. Johnson 1, M. O'Bryan 1.
Best: J. Walls, O. Watson, T. Morris, J. Eder, J. Wheeler, L. Saunders.
Fourths
Mulwala 15.10.100 def Tongala 1.4.10.
The young Mulwala team found themselves battling a very committed Tongala team early on.
The first quarter was a tight tussle as the Tongala pressure seemed to have the Lions boys in a pickle. The cream began to rise to the top in the second quarter as Van, Axel and Maiko exerted their influence on the match.
Archer Kirchen was inviting the Tongala pressure and taking the game on and Reed McGlynn-Phillips and Jamar Zankar were looking dangerous in the forward line.
Mulwala got on top in the second half as Sonny O’Bryan went on a 3rd quarter rampage kicking four and putting the game well out of Tongala’s reach.
Another great team effort cementing their top 4 position.
Goals: S. O’Bryan 4, A. Saunders 3, V. Kreeck 2, H. Donovan 1, M. Leith 1, J. Zanker 1, N. Leith 1, T. Sanderson 1, S. Tayler 1.
