Mulwala travelled to Finley and the typical westerly breeze had kicked in for the late game.
The blustery conditions and several easy games over the previous weeks seemed to be troubling Mulwala as they could not find their usual run and carry.
Finley were flooding the Mulwala forward line as Jyda House and Jack Sutherland were not getting their usual space.
The half forwards in Tom Dow, Charley McKenna and Adam Rouel were trying hard but unable to get any open space to set up the forward plays.
On the other hand, Finley were playing their ground to perfection setting up many goals with the Pagan Paddock method of flood Mulwala and run off which the Lions’ players were not switching onto.
The two Zach’s, Cuppins and Scott were winning plenty of the ball across the middle of the ground but many of the Mulwala forward entries were sloppy chip kicks that played into the hands of the Finley team.
The half time bake by Coach Davies finally kicked in after the 3rd quarter break and Mulwala started to get on top. Harrison and Jackson Meade came into their own as Owen Conway took control of the ruck.
Mulwala were able to break the lines with some long kicking from Jacko Gash allowing the forwards better opportunities kicking six goals in the term while keeping Finley scoreless to notch up another strong win.

Reserves
Finley 1.2.8 defeated by Mulwala 20.13.133.
Another close game was expected in the Reserves and when Finley kicked the first goal after a nice passage of play it looked as though that would be the case.
A few quick centre clearances by Thomas Wilson and Joseph Bland and some accurate kicking from Austin Frauenfelder and Cam Nye quickly saw Mulwala assert their ascendancy.
The rest of the game continued this way as Finley had no answers for the speed of Flynn Fletcher, Jett Peters and Sam Davies out wide and the forward ability of Austin, Rory Bartlett and Marcus Larkin.
Gus Heslin played a blinder in the ruck all day and Hudson Gillies put on a show in the forward line selling so much candy that he could have opened a store and was seen later that night at the club ball pleading some unfair umpiring decisions.
A very rounded team effort by the boys running away with another 20-goal win.
Goals: A. Frauenfelder 6, R. Bartlett 3, J. Peters 3, C. Nye 2, F. Fletcher 2, M. Larkin 1, T. Wilson 1, K. Abikhair 1, S. Davies 1.
Best: F. Fletcher, A. Heslin, A. Frauenfelder, T. Wilson, R. Bartlett, S. Davies.

Thirds
Finley 3.3.21 defeated by Mulwala 12.10.82.
A close contest was expected in the Thirds as both teams were even on points on the ladder.
The game started that way in the first 10 minutes before Mulwala opened through some great play by Jai Sneddon and Mitch Appleby.
Mulwala controlled the play through the first and second quarters where their sharp ball use and quick handballing saw Charlie Drake and Levi Saunders finish off some great passages of play.
The game tightened up in the second half as the backline led by Jye Brennan and Tristan Morris saw more of the ball as Finley worked harder to slow the Mulwala players down.
Jack Walls continued to win possessions and Jetta Norrish and Rhys Burgess worked hard to keep the ball in Mulwala’s forward half.
A fantastic team effort from the boys to notch up a ten-goal victory against another finals aspirant and now solidifying their place in the top six.
Goals: M. Appleby 4, J. Sneddon 3, J. Wheeler 2, L. Saunders 1, N. Williams 1, C. Drake 1.
Best: J. Walls, J. Norrish, J. Brennan, R. Burgess, J. Sneddon, T. Morris.

Fourths
Finley 0.0.0 defeated by Mulwala 26.17.173.
The wide-open spaces of the Finley ground suited the young cubs and for the first time in a long time in the early game you could see the ground as the Finley fog had not appeared.
The boys hit the ground running as Finley had no answers to Mulwala’s teamwork and clever ball use as the senior players in the team were bringing the younger cubs into the game well.
Ryder Leith and Charlie Walls hit the scoreboard and if only for inaccurate goal kicking Mulwala would have been further in front at half-time.
The magnets were moved around in the second half as the younger brigade took over the forward line and midfield and the accuracy improved.
Sonny O’Bryan played a ripper bagging six and an overall fantastic team effort from the boys.
Goals: S. O’Bryan 6, M. Leith 4, C. Walls 3, A. Saunders 3, V. Kreeck 2, S. Sneddon 2, S. Tayler 2, B. Watson 1, H. Donovan 1, R. Leith 1, A. Purtle 1.
Best: V. Kreeck, S. O’Bryan, M. Leith, N. Leith, C. Walls, R. Leith.
