It was a close first quarter where both teams were using the ball very well through the middle of the ground and the forwards were able to create some space and deliver in front of goals.
Mulwala controlled the play in the second quarter and although on top at half time, hadn't truly hit their straps on the scoreboard.
In the second half Mulwala exerted their authority through the middle of the ground as Owen Conway was brilliant in the ruck and Charley McKenna started using his pace through the middle of the ground, setting up Beau Seymour on multiple occasions who had his kicking boots on for the day.
Jackson Meade was fantastic at centre half forward all day and Lewis Taylor and Nathan McNair worked tirelessly in the middle.
A well earned four points getting ready for a tough clash with Nathalia next week.

Reserves
Mulwala 8.12.60 def Echuca United 7.4.46.
The Mulwala reserves started strongly with goals to ‘Wood duck’ and Jaxen early.
However, Echuca fought back well containing the damage as Mulwala had controlled most of the ball through the first half, but could not capitalise on the scoreboard, kicking multiple points.
Echuca started strongly in the third quarter and brought the game almost back to level before the strong ruckwork of Austin began controlling the middle of the ground.
This allowed Mulwala multiple attacks on goal through the great run and carry play from Damien Cook and Brad Ward.
Another good win securing their finals aspirations.
Goals: Damian Cook 2, Jaxen Wheeler 2, Lachlan Wood 2, Mitch Adkins 1, Bradley Ward 1.

Thirds
Mulwala 11.11.77 def Echuca United 5.1.31.
A tough and tight first half, where neither team could break away cleanly from their opposition which saw a low-scoring scrappy affair that had Echuca on top at half time. Mulwala came out firing in the third quarter with the run and carry of Maiko and Beau setting up multiple forward opportunities, where Nate Leith took several strong marks forward and finished the day with four goals.
Miller was great down back all day and swung forward late in the game but left his back line kicking boots on.
A great response after half time by the team against a finals aspirant that will give them confidence for the coming weeks.
Goals: Nate Leith 4, Jai Sneddon 3, Sonny Sneddon 2, Henry Donovan 1, Sonny O’Bryan 1.
Awards: Charlees Chicken - Beau Sissons, Ricky Ds pizza - Nate Leith, SP Plumbing - Maiko Leith, McNamara Stockagents - Jai Sneddon, O’Bryan Painting - Rhys Burgess and MFNC - Miller Sanderson.

Another great all-round performance from the boys.
The day started with the ball in Mulwala forward line for much of the first quarter and didn't change throughout the day.
This allowed the coaches to throw the magnets around.
Byron Dodd played his best game for the club, constantly putting the ball into the Lions forward 50.
He was well supported by Finn Wood and Levi Purtle. Taj Parker was a force up forward kicking seven.
He was joined by 50 gamer Alex Richardson and Dodd with three each.
A pleasing output gets the fourths ready for hard run of three games to come.
Goals: Taj Parker 7, Byron Dodd 3, Alex Richardson 3, Levi Purtle 2.
Awards: Charlees Chicken - Byron Dodd, Ricky Ds - Vandah Domonick-Falzon, Crusty Loaf - Finn Mitchell, Beechworth Armour Motor Inn Defensive Award - Harrison Cooper and Hustl - Alex Richardson.

B grade got off to flying start at home against Echuca United. It was third vs second on the ladder and a win was going to be important.
EJ was sinking goals working well with Tayla in the first quarter as the score was 11 to 3 .
The opposition were lifting in the second quarter and the ball was entering hard and fast with coach Steph making some moves.
Cara coming out of the goal circle and dominating at WD, Mikyah going into the goals and being very accurate and both Milla and Freya reading the ball and getting a lot of rebounds.
At the end of the quarter Echuca had come back with scores even.
The game was very physical with mid court of Georgia Alex and Sophia earning every possession.
The third quarter was more of the same. Anna came on with fresh legs and Mulwala hit the front once again by three goals.
The last quarter was more of the same tough and physical with Echuca United being better with the ball, unfortunately one that the Lionesses let slip.

The Mulwala blue under 11s side came up against a tall and talented Echuca United opposition.
The little Lions gave it their all in every position they were given.
Their never give up attitude was impressive to watch, with the girls giving it their all with big smiles and being super encouraging of each other.
Another great learning experience for the little ladies.
