Mulwala have cemented themselves two games clear on top of the Murray Football League seniors ladder with a 221 point win while prolific forward Jack Sutherland leapt to the top of the goalkicking ladder after booting 17 goals last weekend.
The senior game started much the same as the Reserves game finished with Mulwala piling on goals from the beginning.
Jack Sutherland started with 4 straight behinds and went on to kick 17 goals 5 points in a dominant performance up forward.
Zech Cuppens was in Mulwala’s best, booting one major.

Through the midfield dominance of Zech Cuppens, Zach Scott and Flynn Fletcher, Mulwala controlled the contest all day as the players’ slick ball movement and precise forward forays had Rumbalara in trouble.
Josh Ednie played a fantastic game on the wing as almost the entire team was able to move forward in waves and kick goals.
A last quarter team rotation saw the ever-reliable Mulwala defenders move forward where James Wilson and Lachlan Rouel did what Harrison Meade could not and kicked straight to get their names on the scoresheet.
The loudest crowd interaction came late in the quarter when 3rds Sub Jai Brennan took a strong mark and kicked truly for his first senior goal and the Mulwala boys got around him in what was a special moment for the young man.
Mulwala are now two games clear on top of the ladder and will be looking to continue their good form after the mid-season bye.
Jackson Gash kicked 2 majors for the day.

Reserves
Rumbalara 2.1.13 def by Mulwala 26.16.172.
Rumbalara were short on numbers and the Reserves played with 16 a side which suited the younger Mulwala team.
The Psaltaris boys ran amok all game and were too fast for their Rumba opponents while Gus Heslin was finding an incredible amount of space out on the wings.
Sean Robinson was having a field day up forward and finished with a laconic eight goals and when Cam Nye finally found his straight kicking boots, he also hit the scoreboard.
The game was mostly played in Mulwala’s front half due to great defensive work of Marcus Larkin and Isaac Pitches that barely gave their opponents a sniff of the footy.
Brodie Tyson and Harrison Seeliger were too strong and fast for Rumba and did as they pleased all game as the scoreboard reflected the dominance of Mulwala.
Goals: Sean Robinson 8, Cameron Nye 6, Addison Psaltiras 3, Brodie Tyson 2, Austin Frauenfelder 1, Angus Heslin 1, Jett Peters 1, Isaac Pitches 1.
Best: Daniel Psaltiras, Sean Robinson, Angus Heslin, Cameron Nye, Marcus Larkin, Isaac Pitches.
Thirds
Rumbalara 2.8.20 def by Mulwala 11.4.70.
The Under 17s were too strong for Rumba from the onset and kicked away early in the game through the great work of Jaxen Wheeler and Max O’Bryan up forward.
Xavier Watson played his best game of the year down back using his strength to run through contests and along with Tristan Morris were able to defend most Rumba forward moves and provide great rebound off half back.
Oliver Watson and Josh Eder controlled the centre bounces and were both excellent around the ground all game and along with Jai Sneddon and Oliver Nagle provided the forwards with the ability to kick a winning score.
Another great team effort cementing themselves a game clear in third on the ladder coming into the bye round proving they will challenge the finals this year.
Goals: Jaxen Wheeler 6, Oliver Watson 2, Mitchell Appleby 1, Levi Saunders 1, Jai Sneddon 1.
Best: Jaxen Wheeler, Xavier Watson, Josh Eder, Oliver Watson, Max O'Bryan, Tristan Morris.
Fourths
Rumbalara 3.7.25 def by Mulwala 7.6.48.
The Under 14s were missing a number of senior players from their team this week and it was the younger brigade that stepped up to the fore.
Benji Watson and Ryder Leith were prolific on the wings gathering possessions at will and moving Mulwala forward on many occasions where Henry Donovan and Sonny O’Bryan were capitalizing on the good work.
Nash McNamara and Nate Leith were strong through the middle of the ground and competed hard against the bigger bodies of the Rumba boys and Alex Richardson was like the rock of Gibraltar down back taking some very strong marks and containing the Rumba forwards whilst providing great run and carry from defense along with Jamar Zanker and Charlie Walls.
A tough game and the boys came away with a good win.
Goals: Sonny O’Bryan 3, Van Kreeck 2, Henry Donovan 1.
