Mulwala: S. Robinson 2, T. Dow 2, C. McKenna 2, N. McNair 1, B. Ward 1, L. Rouel 1, B. Seymour 1.

Mulwala: H. Meade, J. Ednie, B. Ward, O. Elliott, N. McNair, J. Mackinnon.
The seniors started well with a four goal to one quarter where Mulwala controlled most of the possession and their defensive structures had Numurkah unable to have their usual impact on their wide home ground.
Jake MacKinnon in for his first senior match was having a huge impact and along with Brad Ward and Oscar Elliott they had total control of the midfield contests.
Although a scrappy game at times Mulwala was able to withstand any Numurkah advances through the strong defensive work of Harry Meade and Josh Ednie who both starred in the backline and set up many of the Mulwala attacks.
A strong team effort that pleased coaches Gorman and Rowe who were very happy to get the four points at a ground that has not been a happy hunting ground for Mulwala previously.
Awards: MDMK - Harrison Meade, Club Mulwala - Josh Ednie, Yarra Golf - Brad Ward, Mulwala Water Ski - Oscar Elliott, Waldrons IGA Corowa - Nathan McNair and Yarrawonga Hotel - Jake MacKinnon.
Reserves
Numurkah 8.5.53 def Mulwala 6.12.48
The Reserves came up against a young and energetic Numurkah that were using the home ground advantage to great use in the first half as their ball use into open space torched Mulwala and allowed them a good four goal lead at half time.
Austin was prolific in the ruck as always and Seb and Josh worked hard around the ground as Mulwala began to wrestle back control of the game.
Sonny played a ripper of a game at half forward in the second half as he and Cam Carling almost won the game back off their hard work.
However, in an extremely close final quarter Mulwala couldn't execute well enough in front of goals and went down by less than a kick.
Goals: L. Wood 3, J. Eder 2, D. Cornish 1.
Best: A. Frauenfelder, C. Carling, S. Fernandez, J. Eder, L. Wood, S. Sneddon.

Thirds
Numurkah 0.1.1 def by Mulwala 21.14.140.
The Thirds looked lively early with the inclusion of Zach back from injury and the boys made every effort to get him the pill early.
He didn't disappoint with some accurate kicking for goal.
Lucas and Axel were on fire through the middle of the ground along with Harley and Tige as the core midfield group demolished their Numurkah opponents at centre bounce and around the ground stoppages.
Baxter dusted off the cobwebs last week and hit some peak form in front of goals as the whole team played a fantastic four quarter match.
Goals: B. Donovan 6, A. Saunders 3, Z. Wheeler 3, S. O'Bryan 2, T. Sanderson 1, D. Wood 1, H. Cooper 1, H. Donovan 1, R. Burgess 1, L. Cooper 1.

Fourths
Numurkah 1.0.6 def by Mulwala 9.13.67.
Looking to atone from a disappointing loss last week, the boys started on fire.
Kicking the first three goals of the game was Captain Tyce Woodhead.
Plenty of midfield pressure kept the ball in the Lions forward line for majority of the first. The second quarter was a tighter contest with Mulwala not being able to register a goal. A crunching tackle on Vandah stopped the game for a small period while the trainers attended and the stretcher was called.
Vandah was back in the team at the half time break giving the group a big lift seeing their mate back on his feet.
Adding 2.4 in the third wasn't what Mulwala were after but the game was heating up with Numurkah again brining their physical intent.
The last started with a good contest with Levi Purtle thrown forward to great effect adding another major to his tally.
The game ended with the Lions kicking more points than goals but more importantly, another win.
Onto Rumbalara at home.
Goals: T. Woodhead 5, L. Purtle 2, B. Carey 1, B. Dodd 1.

B Grade

B grade started slowly in Numurkah with the opposition playing strongly and scoring from almost every one of their opportunities.
Defenders Freya and Milla had their work cut out for them. Mid court was hard at the ball with Cara standing strong.
At the end of the first Mulwala was six goals down. Coach Shani made a plea to the team to play their game and change Mikyah onto the wing, EJ into goals and Alex into the mid court.
But still at the siren of half time, trailed by seven goals.
Slowly the girls started to overpower Numurkah with young guns Sophia and Anna playing strongly.
Alex and Georgia were attacking the ball and Shani and Cara also added to the defence with scores even at the change.
It was goal for goal with Mulwala fighting hard for the win. Tayla and EJ combining to cement the win, one the whole team dug hard for.
Another gutsy win that the girls should be proud of.
Awards: Rich Glen - Tayla Seccull, Mulwala Bakery - Cara Wood and Showcase Yarrawonga - Mikyah Fraunfelder.

This week, the girls brought defensive grit, midcourt mayhem, and goal circle goals (literally).

Claire: Precision feeds and vision — “This girl is on fiiiire.”
Bonnie: Silky passes, cheeky flair, “I’m too hot- hot damn”
Bel: Calm chaos controller, “I’m feelin’ good as hell”

Another great game from the Under 13s. The team is starting to really put new plays into action, and it’s paying off.
Great to see players adapting and working well across different positions. Fantastic shooting by Paige, with strong drives and passes into the ring.
Nancy played well in defence, creating constant pressure forcing numerous turnovers. Excellent progress each week – keep it up team.
Awards: Lake Mulwala Bakery - Nancy Thomas and Thursday night dinner - Paige Varndell.
