The Wahgunyah Lions made the trek to Mount Beauty to take on Dederang Mount Beauty on Saturday.
The senior boys knew they had to work hard to match DMB at home as it's always a tough battle.
The Lions made a solid start in the first quarter with Brady Kirk taking control in the ruck and the General Kane Palmer making sure the back 6 kept repelling all DMB efforts to score.
Ryan Mills and Kane Mills showed their silky best clearing the ball time and time and again from the centre.
The forward line worked tirelessly, and spearhead Lachlan Phillips continued to present with Lawrence Roberts always working hard to make himself an option.
Kane Maghamez was an absolute workhorse at full forward causing headaches for DMB and finishing the game with seven hard-fought goals.
In true DMB style, they didn't drop their heads and continued to push the Lions, but the Lions had enough in the tank to take control of the game running out comfortable winners at the final siren 112 to 55.
Best- Brady Kirk, Kane Mills, Ryan Mills, Lachlan Phillips, Branden Smith, Lawrence Roberts.

The Wahgunyah Lions Reserves came out firing in their first win of the season, delivering a strong performance against Dederang-Mt Beauty.
Ben Nicholson got the team off to a flying start, setting the tone early with his work in the ruck.
Angus Smith led from the front with excellent voice and leadership around the contest, helping to lift the intensity across the ground.
Brett Wilson was electric, using his pace and skill to repeatedly clear the ball and set up attacking opportunities.
Up forward, Dean Maslen was unstoppable, booting six goals in a dominant display, while Jake Coats chipped in with three of his own.
Across the ground, the Lions shared the scoring load with several players hitting the scoreboard.
Defensively, Dederang-Mt Beauty managed plenty of inside 50s, but the backline stood tall.
Cooper Connell and Ben Bennett were rocks in defence, repelling attack after attack and keeping the opposition to a low score.
It was a great all-round team performance and an important first win for the year. The team now looks ahead to a big clash against Rutherglen on Good Friday.

The Wahgunyah Under 14s with an early start to their day, made the big trip travelling just under two hours to Mt Beauty.
Unfortunately, they went down to a very strong opposition side.
Even though we lost the kids never gave up even trying new positions to try and help turn the tide, unfortunately we couldn’t get the job done.
Best Players: Ashton Powzyk, Eli Hales, Hudson Hall, Tom Carroll, Josh Kremmer, Cruz Povey, Rydah Donavan.
