It is an outstanding achievement for Lochie who has risen through the Country Vic basketball junior ranks to finally achieve his dream of playing at state level.
Lochie, who only turned 16-years-of-age in December, is in Year 11 at Galen College, Wangaratta.
The talented young basketballer gives his all in defence and offence, and has reached state level through sheer determination and hard work according to immediate past president of Yarrawonga Mulwala Basketball Association (YMBA) Amanda Wheaton.
Lochie Harvey, with his state singlet.
“Having played at YMBA through his junior years and at Wodonga in the last year, he is not only an awesome player, but also a wonderful ambassador for his sport and gives back to younger basketballers as a rep coach and Aussie Hoops coach,” she said.
“We are extremely proud of you Loch and we wish you every success at the championships in April. We can’t wait to see what’s ahead for him!”
Current YMBA President Scott Jacques added his praise of Lochie.
“He’s good and never gives up,” the president said.
“Lochie’s humble and his selection can be an inspiration to young basketballers to aspire to state level - work hard – and Lochie certainly does that.
“He puts so much back into the game. Everyone at YMBA wishes Lochie all the best in the national championships and our association will support him all the way.”
