B Grade
Tongala 48 defeated Mulwala 15.
It was 3rd vs 4th on the ladder and Tongala were always going to be a tough encounter. Unfortunately the girls didn’t bring their A game and Tongala ran over the top of the Lions girls.
It was a great learning game. Now with a week off the girls will come back firing.
Awards went to Steph Hammond and Freya Fletcher.
C Grade
Tongala 68 defeated Mulwala 13.
C Reserve
Tongala 28 defeated Mulwala 21.
Under 17s
Tongala 51 defeated Mulwala 21.
Another hot day for netball and Tongala came out firing, putting the first scores on the board.
The Mul defenders tried tirelessly throughout the game, however, the accuracy of the Tongala shooters was unbelievable.
The Lions took as many opportunities as they could get but it just wasn’t their day.
Mul gave two under 15s girls experience at higher level netball and the club thank Kaleisha and Mickayla for stepping up.
Awards went to Maya Hargreaves and Kaleisha Pell.
Under 15s
Tongala 30 defeated Mulwala 26.
It was a good fight by the girls this week but unfortunately the Lions went down by 4 goals. The goalers worked well together with the help of the mid court feeling the ball in well. Defence worked well, picking off balls and helping bring the ball back down to the attacking end.
Awards went to Reese Sanderson and Jess Linehan.
Under 13s
Tongala 4 defeated by Mulwala 55.
Under 11s
The girls started off great with accurate passes down the court, moving and positioning themselves well.
Maddi and Skyla were fantastic all game, defending the ball and driving in front of their players.
Milla, Nat and Bobbie’s defensive pressure lead to multiple turn overs just when the Lions needed it.
Rihanna was outstanding, snatching the ball up whenever she could, and passing beautifully into the ring.
Nancy worked hard all day, and played a brilliant game in all positions, proving to be a very versatile player.
Charli was impressive all game with accurate shooting, and great defensive pressure moving to the other end at half time.
Well done girls, they are really coming together as a team and it was a great game to watch.
