COACHES CORNER / ANTHONY HAYSOM
What’s the biggest focus for your group in 2026?
Going a long way into finals and getting to that last day. It’s a young group so we’ve brought in some experience, and hopefully that can develop these young blokes and help fast track them a bit.
What will supporters notice about this team?
That we’re more experienced than the previous season or two. Hopefully they see a very competitive side every week... whether we are playing the top of the table or the bottom side.
What’s your side’s greatest strength?
I feel like we’ve got really good depth at the moment. We’re hoping our reserves will be strong as well, and we can have 30 to 35 guys go through the senior side this year, and a couple of thirds players as well.
What still needs the most work?
We probably need a bit of synergy and for the boys to gel a bit. We’ve got a lot of new blokes coming to the club this year that obviously haven’t played together, so in terms of our game plan and system, it might just take a little while to gel.
What does success look like for this group in 2026?
Probably winning the premiership. Hopefully by the end of the year we’ve got ourselves in a good spot and we are in contention. There’s obviously a lot of goals we can hope to achieve along the way, but success for me will be whether we lift it at the end of the year or not.
