Tuesday’s superb sunny conditions saw a magnificent turnout of 66 players to play a 4BBB pairs where friendships are tested and insults fly freely.
On the Blue it was the pairing of Warwick Sellars and Frank Mundy who both continued their recent good winter form winning with a solid 24 points.
They were 2 points ahead of a 3 way countback led by the pairing of Joe Scibberas/Geoff Burgess from Denis McNelly /Gavin Borwick and Dominic Fotia/ Kerry Pendergast, all three pairs finishing on 22 points.
On the Red, continuing his recent hot form was Corny Boers who teamed up with Ron Hocking to edge Graham Brookes and Peter Dowie on a countback with 22 points.
Following close behind on 21 points was another countback led by Bill Wyatt/Ray Massey who pipped John Mason/Norm Coleman and Greg House/ Omar Persaud and Phil Gregory and Ray Minette.
Thursday’s game was back to Stableford and the warm sunny conditions found scoring to be bountiful.
On the Blue it was local legend and ever young Ronnie "Smokey" Dawson who blitzed the course with a superb 23 points, with a birdie and 6 pars to lead the field by 3 points from Ray Massey on 20 points.
On the Red it was club favourite Terry Strickland who finally broke the bridesmaids curse for a win with a solid 20 points, thanks to some excellent putting to edge Bob Fiddes (19) and a countback of 4 others.

In absolutely beautiful winter weather, the finalists Jen Sonneman and Gloria Roome completed the PGA event for 2022.
Referee Mary Hockley reported that it was a lovely game, with competitors even after the first 9.
Then Jen took charge coming out the eventual winner 4/2.
Congratulations to both ladies on reaching the final and playing so well.
