34 women braved the heat and ventured out early enough to beat the dreaded siren.
Personally, I need a nap now to recover from the very early start! With only this many brave souls playing there was only one grade.
Carol Szekfy took out the win with 42 points while runner up was Barbara Mathieson on a countback from Sonya Symes with both having a credible 39 points.
Other fantastic scores included Noelle Stone and Gloria Roome both on 38, and Aileen Dwyer Buckley with 37.

Men’s 9-Hole Golf
Pot Round Tuesday, January 6
Despite extreme weather conditions and family commitments affecting numbers, 50 brave players took to the course in challenging heat to contest the Pot Round.
In B Grade, it was great to see a fighting-fit Bomber Mitchell claim victory after a closely fought countback against a valiant John Dixon.
Both players finished with scores of 30, with Bomber’s steadier putting proving the difference.
Close behind was Ray French with 31, edging out Mick Doran on countback. Ball prizes were awarded to Joe Cilia, Ray Minette, Billy Wyatt, Norm Moule, and Graham Milner.
A Grade honours went to Andrew Beattie, who produced a superb round of 29 strokes.
Dave Hall and Brendan O’Farrell battled it out for the minor placings, both returning scores of 32.
Ball prizes in A Grade went to Frank Warren, Greg House, Glenn Perkins, Normie Prior, Michael Hope, and Peter Mansfield.
With temperatures forecast to exceed 43°C, it was decided in the interest of player safety to cancel Thursday’s scheduled competition.
