It was fantastic to see everyone enjoying the morning. It was also even more exciting that all the parents escaped without any injuries.
There were many different combinations of parents, siblings or friends playing with the players.
Probably the highlight was Poppy Cooper teaming up with her grandmother Wendy Cooper. Thanks to everyone involved for making it a lot of fun.
For the Hot Shots, the coaches had a couple of new warm up games which challenged both the parents and players.
The groups then continued to practice forehands and backhands with a variety of drills.
The improvement has been immense, and it is great to continually see how much they are enjoying participating. To finish the session an obstacle course was created and the players enjoyed this.
The coaching groups were moved to the hardcourts for the morning. A group was also challenged with a drill on hitting wall.
Most of the players are now able to maintain a long rally which is great to see. Some members of the coaching groups will be elevated to match play in the next few weeks.
Saturday morning junior tennis will now have break and will return when school resumes on Saturday February 4.
