The sports carnival has soccer, netball, softball and football with Vic Park facilities used for netball and football.
Both schools thank the local Netball association, the Yarra Mul Cricket Club and Moira Shire for the use of the amazing courts, ovals and facilities.
The sun shone bright too which made the day an enjoyable one for all involved at the carnival.
Year 6 Boys Division One winners.
Shout out also to some of the footy boys from Sacred Heart and Yarrawonga College P-12 who had to deal with swooping plovers in the first 10 mins at the start of the day.
The Sacred Heart College students came to their rescue with some distractions and protection.
Sacred Heart Primary and the Yarrawonga P-12 College accommodated both the softball and soccer teams at their schools, which was appreciated.
The highlight of the day was seeing the hundreds of students, families, staff, parents, friends and grandparents supporting, cheering and watching the students enjoy being out and about at the different venues.
The premiership was grateful to have some yummy canteen, food and drink choices thanks to the Lions Club, Sweet & Sour Sisters and the P-12 College P&F.
The schools also thank Jason Whiteley for co-ordinating the softball, Jason Bassett the soccer and Carolyn Willett, Dean Carroll for the netball and footy and bringing the day together and Phil Conway and the Yarrawonga Football Club for a loan of some football jumpers for the Year Five players.
Year 6 Girls Division One winners.
Sacred Heart Year 5/6 students did the school proud and staff on the day helped manage, coach, guide and have fun with their students regardless of the results.
Mrs Trembath and Dani Blick (Soccer Yr 5/6), Mr Mills (Football Yr 5), Mrs Wollington & Mrs Cowan (Football Yr 5/6), Miss Schutt & Mrs O’Dwyer (Netball Yr 5) and Mrs Bonat (Netball Yr 6) spent the day with their students.
Thanks Mrs Powell and Mrs Cope for organising the permissions and First Aid kits. It was great to get support from Sacred Heart College with approximately twenty students assisting with coaching and umpiring duties across the day.
Thanks Mr Skehan for the loan of your students.
Results wise, Sacred Heart were grateful to have a successful day with both Year 5 and Year 6 girls teams winning the netball shields in both year levels, the senior soccer team won the Division One soccer title while other soccer teams had a ball, the Year 6 boys dominated the Division 1 football and the Year 5 boys footy team finished top 3.
Overall, Sacred Heart had 12 teams (approximately 130 Year 5/6 students) representing the school in the three sports.
