The Hoppers knew this would be a tall order against a very strong, polished Dookie side however Rennie took on the challenge and gave it their all.
With only nine in it at half time the girls had great hands over pressure and were consistent with keeping the ball low on a tall Dookie.
With a couple outs, the young guns and talents of the future stepped up and showcased some ever-evolving skills.
Lucy Bassett debuted and took it all in her stride, stepping into a defensive roll with ease.
15-year-old Demi Rhodes played a pivotal role in midcourt and goaling, doing everything her coach asked of her.
Every game is a lesson and last week has highlighted some areas to work on and come out stronger next week.

It took a quarter to settle, but once the Hoppers did, the team really started to click. Lucy and Jess were standout performers in defence, working tirelessly to shut down the opposition and turn the ball over.
In the shooting circle, Ebb, Chloe, and Haylee rotated well, kept their composure, and made the most of their chances.
The mid-courters Mykie, Alainah, Georgia and Lindsay brought great drive and control, helping transition smoothly and keep up the intensity.
Everyone lifted after the first break, and the improvement across the court was clear.
Although the Hoppers didn’t come away with the win, it was a strong team performance full of effort, teamwork, and positives to take forward.

With Dookie United returning to the PDFNL this year, Rennie were eager to meet them again on the court.
They proved to be strong opponents, but the Hopperettes brought consistent intensity—driving hard, attacking with purpose, and applying solid defensive pressure.
Each player was set a personal goal for the match, and it was encouraging to see them working towards these throughout the game.
Tess, who has stepped up from the 17s, showcased her versatility by taking on a role in goals—she’s proving to be a valuable asset to the team.
C Grade also welcomed Samantha for her debut; she impressed with her quiet, composed approach and strong defensive presence.
While the game ended in a loss, there were plenty of positives to take away.

Calling all the ladies for ladies day celebrations and cutting to the chase Edos ‘Speedos’ Mackinnon was awarded the players player mug for her amazing speed and midcourt miracles.
She even took a bow not realising that Dookie still had the ball.
The girls worked hard against the returning to the league club Dookie.
The want for the ladies day drink was more evident than the want for the win. Although all girls tried their very best, the Hoppers lost.
The C Res will call that one a oopsie daisy. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger though, and after the fourth loss, the girls are stronger than ever.
Look out, the most consistent team in the league.

Another gorgeous day at Rennie meant the u17s were vibing high and ready to rumble. From the moment they arrived at the courts, the girls find each other and the team starts to thrive.
Coming up against Dookie who Rennie haven't seen in a few years, meant uncertainty this early in the season.
Zoe Freestone and Indi Wheeler were the blockbuster combo in the attacking end. Using speed, accuracy and working on their communications, was the exact improvement and qualities needed for this game.
Jasi Lewis and Charlotte Burrows were two of around five different goalers for the day, and they settled in with each other without hesitation and worked their defenders hard with goal and goal and endless moving.
As always, the team is so versatile and truly couldn't win without every single player doing their part.
Defenders are constantly adapting to new combos and new goalers, and mid courters are finding their spots and working out what plays work for them.
Another great game and great win.

This week the girls came up against Dookie. They were ready for a tough game and probably underestimated dookie.
The Hopper girls worked hard in defence with Lily Lewis and Ella Wilson shining taking multiple intercepts followed up by Sienna Blick and Michelle Coulter in WD.
However, Dookie’s accuracy in the ring was too much. The girls worked on keeping the talk up on such a hot day.
Chelsea Freestone, Maisie Cope and Cydee Adams all worked well in the ring together and worked hard for every goal.
Ruby long and Dakota True supported the shooters in the attack end making sure they were always there on the ring for a reset.
A tough loss for the girls this week with plenty to work on which also included some great plays and team work.

It was a great start with lots of what the 13s had practiced at training being used in the game.
The defence worked tirelessly and the goalies worked for the front position.
With rotations throughout the mid court, Rennie were able to keep some fresh legs to keep drives strong.
Unfortunately, Dookie got up in the final minutes taking the win 13-12.
