A routine victory kept Rochester on track for a finals place in the McMahon Shield.

With every point at a premium at this stage in Goulburn Murray Cricket, Rochester did a big favour to its net run rate, crushing league cellar dweller Nondies-Cohuna by 10 wickets at Windridge Oval.
The host opted to have a bat first, but lost both openers for no score, Jake Wright starting the Rochester bowling innings in fine touch.
There wasn’t much to celebrate throughout the first 24 overs Nondies spent in the middle, only Rhys Behrens showing signs of putting a decent total together.
No other batter reached double figures as the bottom-ranked side was rolled for 68 runs.
Wright finished with 3-10, while best figures went to Cale James who snagged four wickets.
Tim Bubb made 34, as Rochester chased down the target without loss.

Openers Brandon Byrne and Tim Bubb didn’t break the shackles completely, but required no assistance as they got Rochester to the total in 17.4 overs.
Bubb made 34 and Byrne 27, the pair striking at 57 on the way to the win.
In a tough day out for the Nondies bowling unit, Matt Oddie had the most economical figures, taking 0-10 from four overs.
The victory and quotient boost kept Rochester above Kyabram Fire Brigade for now in the battle for fourth after the Flames also had a 10-wicket win this week.
Rochy has the added concern of an upcoming bye to worry about, giving Fire Brigade four more opportunities to secure points this season compared to Rochester’s three.
The defining moment in the finals race may come this weekend, as the two sides clash at Northern Oval at Kyabram.
Meanwhile, Nondies-Cohuna will head to another of the league’s top four, visiting Bamawm-Lockington United.
