Familiar greens didn’t provide the hometown advantage as visitor Moama ran away with the division one contest 16-88 to 0-43.
Rochy’s best showing came in the rink skipped by Don Gillies, but his quartet of Bert Smolenaars, Jenny Major and Bruce Major still suffered a 24-16 defeat against the Jock Linehan-skipped foursome.
In the other rinks, Cameron Keenan (29-16) and Matt Robertson (35-11) recorded big wins for the Steamers over Tim Quinlan and Rob Dennis respectively.
Deniliquin’s win over Rich River sees Rochester slide to the bottom of the table, with just one win, and 16 competition points, from four outings thus far.
Lower divisions
In division two, Rochester struggled to get things going against Deniliquin RSL, losing all three rinks in a 16-93 to 0-36 result.
None of Rochy’s skips could get their sides near the RSL outfits, Carol Cakebread’s 15-shot loss the best effort.
In division three, Elmore took a rink off Rich River through Mark Browne, but his side went down on the overall scorecard, 12-50 to 2-39.
Tongala was too strong for Rochester 14-48 to 0-31, while Kyabram scored maximum points over Lockington, 14-55 to 0-23.
In division four, Stanhope got the best of Lockington, 14-50 to 0-31.
