Rutherglen 9:7:61 - Kiewa 11:12:78
This week saw Rutherglen host Ladder Leaders Kiewa Sandy Creel. Kiewa jumped out of the blocks kicking the opening couple of goals and controlled the first quarter, going into quarter time 3 goals up.
The second quarter saw a much more even contest with Rutherglen kicking 2 goals to 1.3 to trail by 15 points at the main break.
The third quarter saw Rutherglen begin to really control the game, but failed to make the most of their opportunities in front of goal kicking 3.6 to 2.1 in the term.
Leading by only 4 points going into the last quarter, Kiewa regained control of the game around stoppages to create repeat forward 50 entries, running over the top of a brave Rutherglen to win by 17 points.

Reserves
Rutherglen 8:2:50 - Kiewa 14:15:99
Another week with a pretty good effort from the Reserves Boys.
After a slow first half, 200-gamer and skipper Flanners gave the boys a rocket at half time,
This seemed to spark the guys in to action with a much better second half showing from the entire group.
The reserve Cats are still a very young group so will have peaks and troughs throughout most of their games until the guys get to play consistently with each other.
The boys did however string together some very good patches of footy which opened up a powerful Kiewa outfit.
Another Father son duo took the field in Pat and Charlie Beattie which is always a great thrill for a parent.
Charlie taking the chocolates from Dad with 2 goals and being in the side’s best players.
Best players were Big Stonesy who snared the Winslow Mug, James Keys who played his best game of the year and Bailey Nichol who stepped up to help out after playing Under 17s beforehand.
Congratulations must also go to Brent Flannery for playing his 200th club game on the weekend and also featuring in the best.
Awards: Winslow Civil Construction – Brad Stone, Corowa Sports Power – James Keys, Rutherglen Pizza – Bailey Nichol.
Under 17s
Rutherglen 5:4:34 - Kiewa 11:10:76
This week was the boys last shot at finals but unfortunately, they went down by 30 odd points.
To their credit the boys stuck at it until the last quarter where Kiewa flexed their muscles, and the young Cats just couldn't match them. Ryan Milthorpe played a true captain's game and Indhi Kotzur once again used his height to jump over his opponents all over the ground, Archer Colvin also played really well and held his own in the back pocket.
Rutherglen now look forward to finishing out the year and causing some damage to the teams above them.
Awards: The Other Place – Archer Colvin, Rutherglen Pizza – Ryan Milthorpe, Silver Key Café – Indhi Kotzur.
Under 14s
Rutherglen 5:3:33 - Kiewa 11:6:72
Rutherglen under 14s played the top of the ladder side in Kiewa on the weekend. It was played at a high standard as Kiewa’s big, bodied boys eventually got on top, running away with the game in the last quarter to win by 6 goals. In round 2 when these two sides met Kiewa won by 20 goals, this shows the big improvement the Rutherglen boys have achieved over the year.

Under 12s
After a couple of weeks off the boys came up against Kiewa on home ground. They were a bit slow to start the game but after the first quarter the young Cats were able to score a couple of goals. The second half was pretty even contest, but the Cats were able to score another goal to take the win.
