The eight girls representing Sacred Heart finished in first place at Regionals recently and were given the opportunity to go on and compete at a State level at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC).
The girls’ team was represented by: Madi Cassidy, Maisie Cope, Winnie Heffernan, Ruby Driscoll, Evie Charles, Lyla Levett, Elsie Lidgerwood and Charlette Arthur.
Sacred Heart College’s Kiera Freeman gives her team advice in one of the breaks.
At the State Championships, the girls played three games in a round robin format against schools from across the state.
The girls played well in patches, fought hard and did their best against the more dominant metropolitan teams from Melbourne.
Kiera Freeman from Sacred Heart College was fantastic in giving up her time to travel and coach the girls in Melbourne. She had great support from Lauren Lidgerwood and Alison Cassidy who assisted off the court.
The Sacred Heart girls fought hard against dominant metropolitan teams.
The school thank all the families who travelled to support the girls and assist with scoring when needed, your support was appreciated.
Well done to the girls in representing the school at state basketball.
