Having claimed Seymour’s under-18 best and fairest last year from only 11 games, McCarthy finished the season by making his senior debut, playing the final two games of 2025 in the top flight and didn’t once look out of place.

The biggest focus for us is getting the most out of ourselves and our group.

The thing that needs the most work is probably proof. We want proof that we're good enough.

What does success look like for this group in 2026?

We always aim for finals... we definitely want to probably be even one step more, we want to be top four.
