The Lions senior ranks have secured goaler and former Victorian captain Steph Ferguson, who brings elite experience from four Super Netball seasons across Adelaide, Queensland, and Melbourne to the den.
Ferguson joins Mulwala fresh off a league best-and-fairest for Outer East club Monbulk, where she crafted a formidable reputation across seven seasons.
Mulwala will also welcome back A Grade finalist (2023) Lara Langford.
The Lions have regained Langford after spending two seasons at Numurkah where she won the 2024 best-and-fairest.
Langford has represented the Murray Netball League at the 2023 and 2025 State Championships.
Her height, athleticism and competitiveness will be a massive boost for the Lions
The A Grade side will be coached by Laura Gorman and Casey Parker in 2026, and this week Mulwala will hold their junior and senior netball trials.
An ‘Opening Round’ match, bye weeks, and early season blockbusters headline a monster Murray Football Netball League fixture for 2026.
With the departure of Barooga to the Picola District League, an 11-team competition is set to go ahead in 2026, meaning each week will feature a bye.
In an expanded 20 round season, after 18 in 2025, every team will have two bye rounds across the year, ultimately still playing 18 games as standard.
Round one officially launches on Good Friday, which falls on April 3, where Mulwala host Congupna.
