All the swimming action was at the Yarrawonga Outdoor Pool on the weekend, as the Yarrawonga Mulwala Swimming Club hosted its first meet of the summer season.

The Pennant event drew an impressive 220 swimmers from across the Ovens and Murray district, with eight teams travelling from towns Wangaratta, Corowa, Wodonga and Albury.
Yarrawonga fielded a strong team of 30 competitors, a fantastic way to kick-start the season after only resuming training at the pool last week.
The support from Yarrawonga Mulwala Swimming Club families was outstanding, with volunteers working alongside the dedicated Ovens and Murray officials to help run the meet seamlessly.

It was especially exciting to see many new local swimmers dive into competition for the very first time, with participants ranging from just seven years old through to the club’s more experienced swimmers.
Impressively, half the team on Sunday featured swimmers ten years and younger, highlighting a strong pathway and a bright future for the club.
Yarrawonga’s athletes produced some fantastic performances in the pool.
Billie Archibald impressed with three personal bests, including a huge 7.89-second drop in her 50m Breaststroke.
Harriett Alexander also recorded three PBs, with her strongest improvement in the 50m Butterfly.
Georgina Alexander slashed an incredible 8.11 seconds from her 50m Freestyle, while Livai Bainikoro delivered a standout swim, taking 10.42 seconds off his 50m Freestyle.
In the longer events, Alexander Bridgeman clocked a strong 13.47sec pb in the 200m Breaststroke.
Sam Kennedy kept the momentum going with three personal bests of his own, including an impressive 8.94-second drop in the 50m Breaststroke.
Rounding out the highlights, Alice Thomas showed fantastic improvement, cutting 14.76 seconds from her 50m Breaststroke.
The meet marked an exciting start to the summer for the Yarrawonga Swimming Club, setting the tone for a season full of development, achievement, and community spirit.
New captains announced
Yarrawonga Mulwala Swimming Club 25/26 Captains Jack Bourke and Lara Angwin.
Last Wednesday the Yarrawonga Mulwala Swimming Club held its first Club Night of the season.
A weekly highlight where all the team comes together for a team meeting, in house racing and dinner.
Lara Angwin and Jack Bourke were announced as the 25/26 Yarrawonga Mulwala Swimming Club Captains.
They will be great leaders of the club and will assist the coaches and be great mentors for the younger swimmers across the season.
