Headlining the event will be wingless sprints, Goulburn Ovens Sedans Association in their Association 1000, Speedway Drivers Association of Victoria hot rods, the visiting division 2 hot rods, and the standard saloon annual Lachie Howie Memorial.
Some big stars across various classes have nominated to compete this weekend in what will be an event packed with variety.
A feature of the Wahgunyah Speedway race day is the 1pm pit walk.
If you are an early bird and can be at the track prior to 1pm, you can join the pit walk led by a club official explaining the cars, introducing drivers, and allowing the opportunity for a sit inside a race car and autograph hunting with competitors.
Wingless sprints have attracted drivers from both sides of the Murray River border, with Mark Blyton from Dubbo, Andrew Seery, Daniel Argus, Brocke Argus, Matthew Thacker and Evan O’Bryan from the NSW side, and Callum Beveridge, Jayden Lock, Pary Das, Thomas McDonald, Jack Regan, Bradley Buhagiar, Dylan Collett, Jordan and Robert Nicholas, Michael Conlan and Bailey Collins from Victoria.
Throw in Carlo Cappelletto representing Queensland, and there are eighteen wingless sprints ready to race.
Blyton comes into the meeting as the biggest name in the field with strong recent results, while McDonald and Regan from Victoria have been consistent front runners among those keen to take home a win.

The Goulburn Ovens Sedans Association will compete for their annual Association 1000 event.
Tyiren Bailey, Ben Schmetzer, Marty Bassett, Marcus Maclean, Samuel Failla, Brandon Lovell, Stu Balins, Robert Williams, Danny McCarten, Shane Barkley, Team Creek, Team Joosten, Sam Schmedje and Luke Collis will all be running Corowa registered cars, with Schmetzer, Bassett, Maclean, Lovell and McCarten among the race winning chances.
Victorian champion Nathan Shortis, who claimed his title at Alexandra Speedway recently, along with Mitch Watts, Thomas Bowers and Dennis Reid are also potential winners representing other clubs.
Victorian champion Mitch Foster will lead the nominations for the standard saloon Lachie Howie Memorial, travelling from Moe in Gippsland.
Scott Whittle, the winningest standard saloon racer in history, leads other visiting competitors such as Bryce Leek, the last winner of a final for the class at Wahgunyah, Jack Yeomans, Jaimi Barber, Wayne Sheerman, Josh Campbell, Troy Higgins and Jacob Head.
Wayne Sheerman is just one of the visiting drivers competing in the Goulburn Ovens Sedans Association’s annual Association 1000 event.
Michael Fleming-Robertson leads the local contingent that includes Adam Brezovnik, Russ Stone, Harley Matthews and Rhyse Lavender.
Fleming-Robertson will mix it with the race leaders, which should include Foster, Whittle, Yeomans, Sheerman, Leek and two-time Victorian ladies champion Jaimi Barber.
The division 2 hot rods will be making a rare appearance at Wahgunyah, bringing a strong field from Lakes Entrance, Bairnsdale, Sale, Traralgon and Trafalgar.
Aaron Laidlaw, the current Victorian number 3 driver following this season’s state title result, Keven Stoopman, Trent Wilson, Ben Crittenden and Mel Tatterson are among the drivers to watch.
The cars are six-cylinder, slightly modified race cars with exposed front wheels, giving them the appearance of sedans from the fifties and sixties that rodders would drive around.
Speedway Drivers Association of Victoria hot rods are eight-cylinder, open-wheel cars and are popular at Wahgunyah, where they compete regularly. Some of the drivers to watch include Shannon Meakins, Brendan Roberts, Daniel Chesterfield, Kali Hovey and Tony Green.
Meakins has been the driver with the most victories per season for some time and is very hard to beat.
Junior sedans are scheduled for a skid, with Kade Brockley, Lucas Williams and Amelia Henskens set to attend, while the Howlin’ Humpy’s are on track again with seven members set to demonstrate how these crowd favourites can get up and go.
Craig Lansdown, David Walton, Joel Copeland and Chris Glare will join Rod Glare, Kate Bunt and Ray Lavender, long-time stalwarts of the club, on track.
Gates to the public open from 11am, with racing starting at 3pm.
A full canteen will operate on site with hot and cold food and drinks available.
