Twelve swimmers from the Yarrawonga Mulwala Swimming Club travelled to Wangaratta to compete in the Wangaratta Amateur Short Course Meet, with the team enjoying a successful day in the pool.

The club was delighted to welcome its two newest members, Joseph and Adelina, who made their competition debut with the team and were warmly supported by their fellow swimmers.
Flynn Cox: Silver Standard.
Across the meet, YMSC swimmers produced an impressive 15 personal best (PB) performances while collecting 15 medals, including two gold, seven silver and six bronze.
Billie Archibald: Bronze Standard.
There were plenty of standout performances throughout the day. Emma Thomas (9) led the way with five personal bests, including outstanding improvements of 15.10 seconds in the 100m Individual Medley and 8.08 seconds in the 50m Breaststroke.
Finn Angwin (15) claimed three medals, highlighted by his first-place finish in the 100m Breaststroke, while recording two PBs, including a 5.84-second improvement in the 50m Breaststroke. Ella Hollister (16) also collected three medals, including 1 st place in the 100m Breaststroke.
Jacob Halili: Blue Standard.
Harriet Alexander (11) recorded two personal bests, highlighted by a 4.08-second improvement in the 50m Breaststroke, Flynn Cox (13) achieved two PBs, including an impressive 18.01-second improvement in the 100m Butterfly, while Elyse Minogue (7) recorded a 11.61-second improvement in the 50m Freestyle.
The club also celebrated event victories from Thomas Minogue (8), who won the 50m Breaststroke, while Joseph Raco (12) made a great debut, claiming 2 nd place in the 50m Breaststroke.
Harriet Alexander: Blue Standard.
Well done to all swimmers Darcy, Lara, Ella, Finn, Flynn, Joseph, Harriet, Emma, Thomas, Adelina, Alice and Elyse, who all represented the club with determination, sportsmanship and enthusiasm.
YMSC Swimmers recognised in National Junior Excellence Program
Four swimmers from the Yarrawonga Mulwala Swimming Club have been recognised through Swimming Australia's Pho3nix Junior Excellence (JX) Program, celebrating their outstanding performances during the 2025/26 season.
The Pho3nix Junior Excellence Program recognises swimmers aged 9 to 13 years who achieve qualifying performance standards set by Swimming Australia.
Established in 2007, the program encourages and rewards junior swimmers as they develop their skills and progress through the sport, with swimmers achieving Gold, Silver, Bronze or Blue standards based on their best performances throughout the season.

In addition to recognising outstanding performances, the program provides opportunities for swimmers to attend development clinics and learn from some of Australia's elite athletes, helping to support their continued growth both in and out of the pool.
