COACHES CORNER / JASON TRAIANIDIS
What’s the biggest focus for your group in 2026?
Improvement, we only won a couple games last year, so we’re trying to get this up and running better than 2025.
What will supporters notice about this team?
There’s a fair few new young guys, we’ve had seven or eight come join us which is promising for the future. They’re fellas who are keen to get better.
What’s your side’s greatest strength?
Although we’ll be a pretty new side with a lot of boys 19 to 21 years old, having that age demographic means they’re all going to be pretty fit. I’d say we’ll be a running side, and an honest side.
What still needs the most work?
Our skills let us down a little bit and our overall work ethic too last year. We’ve done a lot of footy oriented training sessions this preseason, as we’re starting from scratch a little bit (structure-wise) with a lot of new faces in the team.
What does success look like for this group in 2026?
The bottom line is we want to improve. Everyone hopes to make finals and we’re running a bit far behind, but we won three games last year so we want to make that five or six (in 2026). We want to be competitive each week, and see lots of little improvements across the board.
