Tatura top dogs over Ky

Kyabram hosted fifth-placed Tatura at Kyabram Recreation Reserve at the weekend, the second Saturday of the split Goulburn Valley League round 13.

The lower table Bombers did what they could against the Bulldogs, but the game quickly got out of hand for the hosts.

An early burst saw Tat out to a 7-1 advantage and the score read 14-4 by quarter-time.

The remaining quarters followed a similar pattern.

Kyabram managed six or seven goals in each of the following three periods, while the Bulldogs’ total floated between 14 and 16 in a remarkably consistent output.

The final score saw the Bombers well beaten, 23-60, a good result for Tatura, which kicked further clear of a chasing pack including Shepparton Swans, Shepparton United and Echuca.

Abby Waasdorp was strong for the Bombers in midcourt, earning best-on recognition for her side.

Kyabram remains second from the bottom with one win in 2025.

That victory came over Benalla, which the Bombers will encounter again at the weekend, this time Benalla Showgrounds playing host to the clash.
